After ruining the form and function of my nose, Dr. Pittman has left me facing an 8 hour revision rhinoplasty in which my surgeon will have to harvest my own rib in order to rebuild what is left of my nose and restore my breathing. My nose is crooked, collapsed, and deviated. I am now a mouth breather and the profile has a hideous and unnatural ski slope to boot. I am TERRIFIED to have this procedure done as I have never had a surgery that lengthy and there are a lot of possible and serious complications involved in harvesting the rib. I have now lived with this for close to two years and have thought abut it long and hard and have decided to follow through in order to restore my breathing and self esteem. I had NONE of these issues prior to my surgery. I wish I had never done this in the first place and I wish I had my old nose back. It was perfect compared to what I am dealing with. Upon expressing my concerns to Dr. Pittman, all he had to offer was to just "go back in and straighten it up" after an ENT performs the surgery to restore my breathing. This is an absurd and unrealistic compensation, not to mention insulting to my intelligence and common sense (my revision surgeon has said my nose can now never be 100% straight) and why in the world would I undergo TWO surgeries, especially considering the healing time (two years) for REVISION rhinoplasty. Not to mention I'd have to be insane to let this man touch me again. He has zero pride in his work, zero integrity and zero compassion for his patients. I told him that since my surgery, my self esteem has plummeted and I have been very depressed. Considering I cannot breathe thru my nose and the center of my facial structure is extremely flawed and deformed, this is understandable. Dr. Pittman expressed no concern for what I have had to deal with because of him. No compassion and no compensation. He basically runs a boob job/tummy tuck mill and has no place performing complex procedures such as rhinoplasty. (Though TWO of my coworkers underwent breast augmentation with him and are also unsatisfied.) That makes four unsatisfied patients--myself, my mom, and two coworkers--THAT I KNOW OF) My mom had rhinoplasty and blepharoplasty the day before me with Dr. Pittman and before doing my rhinoplasty the next day, she had to go back in to surgery and get a blood clot in her eye fixed. Her nose is also crooked, but she is able to breathe through it and will not undergo surgery to fix it at 70 years old and instead will help me pay for my revision, which will cost between $15-20,000. I am a nurse and cannot easily come up with this money. My mother, a retired teacher, will sacrifice some of her retirement in order to help me. This is not easy for us and Dr. Pittman has offered NOTHING, not even an apology. He sat right next to me in the hair salon one day talking and bragging about his recent travels with his wife and never acknowledged me. You can only imagine how infuriating this was as I sit with a deformed nose, mouth breathing and barely able to get it fixed. If you have any sense, don't let this man touch you.
