I have always been ashamed of my thighs. I was never obese as an adult, but unfortunately I was as a child. Things got worst after giving birth to my 3 children.I first visited a plastic surgeon 2 years ago, but I was disappointed when he told me I needed a vertical thigh lift , because I was afraid of the scars.
Now I can say I was wrong because my scars are much better than my saggy skin

Hi there! Welcome to the community! Thank you so much for sharing your story with us here on RealSelf. Congratulations on an awesome result. You look fantastic, and your scars are so neat, they are barely noticeable. Did you need pain meds for long?

Hi, sorry It took me a long time to answer but I was really busy ( its Christmas)!!!!!
I took pain meds for about a week( paracetamol), I wasn't in much pain. I woke up from surgery wearing a compression garment, pain was 4.5-10. I returned home the following day. I was feeling quite well and I returned to work after 10 days which was a mistake

Hey, no worries! Thanks for your response. I hope you had a great Christmas :) You said it was a mistake to go back to work after 10 days. Would you say this was the biggest obstacle during your recovery? If so, could you give any advice to others who are preparing for surgery?

I think that patience is the key word. It is a major surgery. Problems always exist , I still have problems with my swollen ankle, it is getting better day by day, so I must be patient. I look good but my body needs its time to heal.

That's really good advice, thanks! I think we all want to see results immediately!

Did you have saddlebags before? If so, did the lift help?

I am not sure I understand what you mean by saddlebags. I had saggy skin everywhere especially on my inner thighs and knees. I had cellulite too, which doesn't go away but improves as the skin tightens. I will try to post some more pics

Saddlebags are when the outer thigh bulges out. After losing 120+ lbs over the last several years, I had a lower body lift this past Aug. I hate the way it left my contour. My hips/torso look great but when you come down off my hips to my outer thighs, my thighs bulge out wider than my hips.

I posted a terrible before picture, I don't know if it answers your question.
For the time being I can't see my thighs bulging out, but perhaps it's early to say.
I think we must concentrate in the good results and try to forget the bad ones

From your pictures, you do not have the outer thigh problem that I have. It's very disheartening for me because I can fit into a size 8 jeans but they are too tight for my thighs...they don't even fit into a 12. A 12 is still too tight for my thighs and are very big at the waist and hips. I'm trying to figure out what to do. I had asked my surgeon about Lipo and he said the skin will not snap back in the outer thigh. I think perhaps he should have done lipo at the same time he did the lower body lift so that would not have been an issue. Well thank you for responding.

I can understand your disappointment, your doctor should have told you to have Lipo first. I also wanted to have lipo on the outer thigh and I thought I was going to , but the day of the surgery my doctor told me that it would be dangerous for me so I had lipo only on the inner thigh and knee. He also told me that I could have lipo afterwards but I'm not going to because I'm afraid of having saggy skin again
thank you
