So happy! I had bilateral breast reduction last...

So happy!
I had bilateral breast reduction last Friday. Is aid goodbye to my 36HH and woke up with beautiful -albeit swollen- boobs! My wonderful surgeon removed 2kg from each breast! Wow!
My back pain has gone. I have very little pain.. just a bit of bruising when I stand up in the morning (hello gravity!)... I stayed in hospital for two nights and enjoyed the pampering.

I had full range of motion in my arms immediately and have had very little pain. The odd twinge in my left breast.

Apparently my breasts will get a little smaller once the swells has gone down!

I had to laugh when my compression bra arrived! There was no way i could imagine fitting it.., abut I do! Yay!

Can't wait to buy new cute bras!

I really am so very happy!.... tender, bruised and delicate but man.. I love my new boobs!.. my nipples have vanished with all of the swelling but will reappear when the swells have gone down. had my first check up today. Dr Vij is very happy. My nurse was wonderful and showed me some massages to help with lymphatic drainage.. I have lovely new dressings on now and feel wonderful!.. :) not sure what size I am yet.. I'm wearing an XL compression bra.. so I could be anywhere between a DD and a C when the swelling has gone down. I don't care really. I'm no longer a double H!.. :) yippee

ooh! that's exciting! I didn't ask any questions today. I was too busy watching the nurse change my dressings and trying to sneak a peak at my 'under' boob!. ha

I was moaning to my that I thought my boobs had 'grown' since surgery and she laughed at me... she reassured me that they haven't 'grown' but will feel full and swollen... I still can't believe they can fit into this tiny compression bra AND that they stand up so perkily on their own! No more wearing a bra under my swimsuits! yay

I'm trying to post pics and there posting sideways that's not how they are in my file???
August 6, 2016
Odd. I think mine looked sideways when I loaded them but straightened up once they were uploaded. If not you can go into them once they're loaded and click on the rotate option

How's your pain?
I'm very tender- especially when I wake up. I think it must be blood flow moving about after staying still all night. It still feels like its 'sunburnt' around the incisions.

1 week post op

I've had a great week. Minimal pain. Very tender boobs and I find myself holding them when I bend down etc.. I have had some sharp twinges in my left boob but aside from that im doing great. Even the small area at the side which had a bit of Lipo really isn't painful.

I take a couple of paracetamol with codeine during the day Ito manage the swelling discomfort.

The nurse was fab today. Gently changed my dressings and cleaned up my incisions. She showed me how to do a gentle massage on my breasts to get the fluid/swelling dispersed. Dr Vij came in to check on me. Lovely lovely man, so cheery and positive. He's very happy with how I'm doing.

I feel great but am being cautious to take things easy. I'm probably going back to work in another week.

The Dr said the sharp twinges in the left breast is probably due to fluid moving about in there. He wasn't concerned. :) all good on the recovery front!

2 weeks post op!

I've had some discomfort this week. The middle of my chest is still very bruised and worse in the morning when I stand up.. lots of 'ouch'ing when I move in bed or get up (gravity sucks!)... but once I'm moving about I'm fine.

I felt my stitches for the first time yesterday... they started to feel dry and itch a little. I guess it's all healing as it's supposed to.

I had my 2 week check up and change of dressing today. A couple of stitches needed to be clipped.. but the rest are dissolving nicely. The steri strips were removed and the nurse gave the incisions and nipples a good clean. She redressed them with tape and I was given the all clear to start driving again... Dr Vij came in to check on me. His beautiful smile and calming persona always good to be around. He thinks I'm doing really well. I asked him what I could do to help myself with the pain in my middle chest and asked if it's ok to put a warm pack or cold pack at this stage. .he said it would be fine as long as I check the level of heat as my chest is still numb.

due back for next dressing change next week. Great post op care :) so very happy with Dr Vij and the nurses that work at Assure in Subiaco.
