Let me start off by saying that Dr. Yoo has done a good job with my primary Asian rhinoplasty; he was able to fix all my concerns and I’m overall happy with my results.
However, a little over one year after my rhinoplasty I started noticing an unsightly “bump” on one side of my nose tip, which is the tip cartilage graft that has become visible and palpable after all the swelling has subsided, also called “shrink wrap effect”. He addressed my concerns by offering to do a revision; (minus surgeons fee) however I did pay for op room and anesthesiologist fees, about 4K. I was agreeable to this since this “bump” on the tip of my nose was something I knew would bother me indefinitely.
Fast forward to 1 year after my revision and the same bump on my nose tip has reappeared, and is even more visible and palpable than the first time. Within the one year recovery process I watched and waited patiently to see if this cartilage bump would eventually reabsorb or get better with time however this unfortunately was not the case. It has been pointed out by people and is even more noticeable with makeup. It’s impossible to conceal.
On my one year post op revision appointment, I once again voiced my concerns about this bump on the tip of my nose. We are now in the process of doing a second revision to fix this issue, hopefully third time’s a charm. Updates to follow.
