I had the Biltmore lift and stayed in a cabin in beautiful Asheville (booked a flight across the country and did a little mother/daughter trip with this) that I found on VRBO (message me if you want a recommend :) I had the lift in late August and then I stayed in extra week, I went back to work and saw my husband less than ten days later, neither one noticed, ha! They thought I just had some really good laser work and a lot of rest and maybe a chemical peel. I, however, noticed MAJOR change. I looked exactly like me, but from college. Okay...maybe graduate school. I did (and still do) have a little mark under my chin so I told my husband I had some excess fat removed while I was there (which I did). Whatever, loves don't need to know all of our secrets. Here's what's amazing about Dr. Harley (and a quote from my mother), "He's not at all what I would have expected for how famous he's become with his lift! He's really down-to-earth and honest." also, he doesn't use an anesthesiologist or anything of that kind, I was actually AWAKE for the procedure and remember it! Which most people still fall asleep, but I'm high strung so I knew this was a possibility and I can say it wasn't scary or painful but actually really cool and calming to hear what was happening and various points along the way. I had zero pain during and afterwards and only took the pain meds for the first 24 hours. After that I wanted to go out hiking (day two), but you aren't supposed to be TOO active due to blood clots. I felt amazing by day two though, and looked amazing, already. So, I put on sunglasses and did local activities that just require walking, nothing too rigorous. It hasn't even been six months yet and I rarely wear make-up because the cuts along the front o my ears (even when I do wear make up I don't bother looking there) are invisible. Those had actually pretty much faded within two weeks. I do recommend those silicon sheets, even over stitches (ask him about it) and they will go away super fast, but you have to be diligent. A lot of patients aren't and so surgeons don't always recommend. A lot of them are clear or flesh toned and you can wear with make up without anyone noticing as well. Also-scary things may happen as you recover, but THEY WILL GO AWAY. This is with all lifts, PS of any kind. For example, I had an upper bleph with the Biltmore and one of my eyes was smaller than the other...what? It was swollen and weirdly this happened two weeks in. It went away (slowly) after two more months. Did anyone notice? Me! But that's it. I had some bumps on my skin from where my stitches were on the upper lids and also some lines. This lasted on one eye longer than the other and worried me too! Hey, I've never had surgery or stitches of any kind, I didn't know what was going on. These too will go away. Who will notice? You! That's about it. Massage them! Be patient. Jump to NO conclusions until you have reached month 6. Dr. Harley is truly the best and all of this is a natural part of recovery from a very well-trained doctor who knows that if the stitches aren't done in a way that leaves a little line initially, then when it heals, you will have an inverted line that will NOT go away. This is the difference between a well-trained, artistic surgeon and one who is not. It may cause some healing anxiety but just trust the process and the doctor. I am SO HAPPY I had this done and it's probably the most worthwhile investment I've made in a long time. It was 8900, which, if you do research, is an amazing price, with better results than doctors charging three times this. If you want to have this done, see Dr. Harley, this is all he does...don't see a surgeon who does all types of surgery (most) because they won't have this level of expertise for your face. This is the only place where I'm going to promote him though because I love that no one knows except me!! Thank you Dr. Harley!
