Hello, it's been a month and at this point I am just treating the resulting scar. My right side of the scar looks great it is just a fine line that looks like a crease. The left side of it however has keloided a very small bit so it looks raised. I've been correcting this with silicone tape and treating the hyperpigmentation with a series of tea tree oil and bio oil and mederma. It has helped quite a bit but I have just started using tea tree oil and I think it will get much better. It looks quite noticeable in the pictures but it's really not, it just looks like the top of my belly button. Once the hyperpigmentation goes away it'll blend in even more. At this point though I am 100% confident wearing a bikini, I am so happy! I will update again when I see improvement :)

What doctor did you see?

Hi, I went a plastic surgeon in Annapolis, Maryland. Any PS should be able to perform this procedure as it's a very simple and minor surgery

What's the doctors name? Not all doctors can perform this as they are not knowledgeable which is why you can't find many results on Google for "bellybutton reconstruction after belly pierce". From the looks of yours, he did a pretty okay job. Looks good.

Hi, how are your results now? re you happy? Which doctor did you use? Thank you.

Do you have any updates to your scar? I’m so interested in getting it done. All my self esteem is gone since I have had my scar. Stupid me thought it was cool to get a piercing just because my friend had one. Thanks so much!

What is your piercing scar look like? Mine has unfortunately become hypertrophic/keloided. But I think this happened because I had a bad allergic reaction to tea tree oil when I put some on my scar lol. Honestly it looks ok because it’s colorless, it’s just a little raised, and it just looks like the edge of my belly button!

Why even write a review if you refuse to give the Dr’s name, even when asked?!
May 27, 2018
I don’t have time to reply to every comment. Few people messaged me directly and I was happy to give them the doctors name. No need to be rude.

You have no time to respond to the 6 times you were asked who the doctor is but you have the time to answer if you are directed messaged?

Why can’t you just help the community out and post who the Dr is ? I don’t get it.

So I got my steri strips off!! I was really excited to finally see what it looked like under there lol. Anyways I went in today and she took the strips off and then she used a cooltouch laser to help healing. I thought this was interesting because I tried to research cooltouch beforehand and all I could find was cooltouch being used for acne and NOTHING on healing or scar preventing. But I figure if it's good for acne it might do something for me and it was free anyway! Overal I am happy with it and glad I have done this. There is a pink whiteish area surrounding this little dot of blood which is where my PS had cut out more of my skin so that needs more time to heal. However I am already happy with it because I feel it's already better than my old awkward scar and am excited about finally feeling good in a bikini!! I was told by the nurse that silicone strips may help and I may do that. I will update in probably a few weeks since there will be nothing new, the rest is just letting my body heal this!!! :-)

steri strips come off this friday, i've been a little worried because my wound hurts more than it did before I got stitches out. I wonder if this is normal, I can't see under the steri strips so I hope it's not infection or maybe opened because I have been moving a lot. I'll update this again see how it goes friday
