So when I was 15 I had the bright idea of piercing my own belly button and to keep it short, it was pierced wrong, got infected and I had to take it out. But wait! What's worse is that I had pretty bad anxiety back then so I would repeatedly scratch this scar off ALL THE TIME. So needless to say the scar tissue had gotten really thick and raised and not pleasant looking. It is a relatively small scar that many people would not bother with but it has always been something that has really bothered me and decided it was time to do this for myself and put myself at ease.
I went in today and my doctor and his assistants were kind and friendly. I was shy as this was the first ever surgical procedure I've ever had even though it's a small one. The doc didn't talk all that much but I was confident in him from the reviews I've read. He did explain to me that my belly button will look different since the scar was so close to the edge of my belly button. He said that it'll just look like I had a hernia when I was baby or something like that??? (This worried me a little?) So I went home and after the anesthesia wore off it really began to hurt and pulse for awhile but I got through it. I can't twist my body or bend over without it hurting but I am hoping I will be a quick healer.
I will be coming back next week to get a stitch removed. He used stitches that will dissolved but he did decide to use one external one. Later I'll be coming in for some laser/light treatments that are supposedly to help with healing and keep the wound from scarring minimally. Excited how this will turn out!! Crossing my fingers it will be worth it and that I can show my belly for summer without being so self conscious!!

Hi, which method did you used? Is The clinic in London? Thanks

Hi, I'm from US, but it's a very simple procedure most plastic surgeons will have no problem doing it. I don't really know what my PS did but he just cut out the scar.

So this is what it looks like 4 days after. Excuse my hairy belly lol I don't want to shave during healing, I think it looks fine I'm excited to see what it looks like after stitches come out this friday!! As for my belly button it's new shape is actually warming up to me. I realize the doc cut it in a way so that that stitch line would act like my new belly button hood?? Anyways i'll be updating again later
