Recovery Overview

WORTH IT$8,000
In one of the after photos you can see the sticky steri-strips that are discolored from clothes and my compression sleeves. The adhesive comes off in a few weeks so don’t be alarmed by that. The first 2-3 days after surgery are difficult and painful but I would describe the next two weeks as just “uncomfortable.” When I started feeling better after a week or two, I started doing a little too much and had to slow down. Keeping our arms raised or propped up is really important. I walk a lot with my husband and sometimes put my arms up to get a little relief and it looks like I’m getting arrested. It will all be worth it! I’m very happy with the results so far.

After Pictures

These pictures are about 2-1/2 weeks out. It is so fun to look at the new shape of my upper arms and I can’t believe how quickly I’m healing. At my 3 week follow up the nurse said that I can expect swelling for 3-6 months so I’ve been wearing compression sleeves almost all day and night. Looking forward to my arms will look in another 3 weeks.

I've always struggled with my weight and for the past two decades, the scale crawled up and down between 185-205 pounds. I've worked out with personal trainers for months at a time. Diets would come and go and the last time I lost any significant weight I was eating 500 calories a day and putting drops under my tongue while paying for expensive supplements. My arms continued to grow and really sag after I turned 50. Finally I decided "enough" and began to research surgeons on Real Self. I chose Dr. Trussler in Austin, TX based on the impressive results that I saw on this site. Brachioplasty is a specialized procedure so I recommend that you search for surgeons who have performed many of these procedures. Here are my before pictures.
