If You Value Your Life, Do Not Have Surgery with Dr. Koneru
I do not recommend Advanced Concepts in Plastic Surgery to anyone! I was a patient of Dr. Koneru for ten years and had two previous surgeries with him, but I will never set foot in his office again. I scheduled a third surgery with him a month ago but do to a severe medical problem that arose two weeks prior to surgery I am no longer able to have any surgeries. I notified Jennifer Tisdel, his office manager, that I needed to cancel my surgery because it would be detrimental and possibly life threatening if I had any type of surgery. She told me I would have to pay a 20% non-refundable deposit if I wanted to cancel the surgery because this was a “business contract.” I was not aware of this “non-refundable deposit,” nor did I ever enter a contract with them or sign any paperwork which described this non-refundable deposit. Not to mention, when it is your life on the line it is not a “business transaction.” When I told her this, she became very combative in the way she spoke to me. She talked down to me, was sarcastic, laughed at me, argued with me, and spoke over me and then harassed me through their patient portal app because I told her that would be the only way I would communicate with her, so it was all documented. I had to ask her THREE times in the app to stop contacting me. I asked her to provide me with this “contract” I signed, and she refused, because it never existed. Dr. K (as he is known to his patient’s) then started mailing me letters, the same letter three times, two of which were certified. After the second letter, which was certified, they had documentation that I had received the letter but proceeded to send yet another certified letter. This makes zero sense; it is very unprofessional and unethical because the harassment continues. The saddest part is that I asked her to speak with Dr. K about my situation, since I was a long-standing patient, and he would not waive this so-called non-refundable deposit despite my medical condition. At the beginning, I did not think she was conveying all the information to him, but once I received the three letters signed by him, I knew he was completely aware of my condition and situation. It is unethical, unprofessional, and horrific that a doctor would not forge a deposit knowing his patient’s health could be severely compromised or even die if they had the surgery. If you value your life, do not ever undergo surgery with Dr. Koneru because he obviously values money over life. I would give negative "stars," but it is required to give at least one star in order to post a review.
