Three weeks post tummy tuck and brachioplasty

Arms

WORTH IT$5,300
Brachioplasty is not for the faint at heart. After 80 lbs. weight loss, I had too much sagging skin, so it was my only option if I wanted my arms to fit into clothes that fit my body. The healing process is quite a bit longer for arms, than it is for the tummy, because of frequent use/movement. My results are still developing as I wear my compression garments to keep inflammation down but I'm overall very pleased with the new size.

Hi Cindy. Just checking in to see how you are doing. Your pics look great, especially your tummy tuck. Are your arms doing better? They looked pretty swollen and painful. I'm saving your journey, seriously thinking of using your doctor for the same two procedures. Would love to hear how you are doing and see updated pics. Thanks!
Did you choose Dr G? I’d love to see pics especially arms
You look amazing. What a dramatic difference in your abdomen. We have similar body types as I have lost a lot of weight aswell. How much weight did you lose post tummy tuck?
WOW....just amazing!

After pictures (tummy and arms)

Here's a picture taken 14 days after tummy tuck and liposuction on my sides. The marker is just to hide my private part. At this point, there is still significant swelling but you can see a great hour glass shape and flat tummy.

Two Months to Go Before my Surgery; Need Suggestions

My arm lift, tummy tuck and waist lipo is scheduled for April, 2019 at the CECIP clinic with Dr. Jean Paul Giudicelli Saba. Staying at JM Recovery house for 4 days pre-op and 2 weeks post op. My daughter is coming along for the first 8 days. Anyone been there and done that and have any suggestions? Did you feel safe at arrival and at the RH? They give you some ideas of items to bring - was there something else you would suggest as well? Places to go before and after surgery? What are the massages like?

Hi! Create a surgery IG page to share your journey and ask all your Qusrions there. There are many Dr. G dolls that that are sharing their experience with th doc and JM RH.

Good luck on your upcoming surgery, be sure to come back and update on how you are doing.

Good luck. Please come back and share your experience. I want to have the same surgeries and am still checking out doctor's. Thanks for sharing.
Warning: Long story....but I have some tips. I'm 10 days post-op and I am feeling pretty good. I went shopping by myself at the mall yesterday for 4 hours), that's how good. Anyway, Dr. Jean Paul Giudicelli Saba (the son) performed brachioplasty, tummy tuck and lipo on 4/22/19. I am really impressed with the results so far and I still have swelling and bruising (which is to be expected). First, Dr G is genuinely nice (not fake) and always smiling. He remembers you, your requests and looks you in the eye - he explains what miracles he can and cannot perform. He even remembers your family members and inquires about your well being. His surgical skills are excellent (no deaths) not to mention how very very thin my scars will be (definitely can wear a bikini if I want to). My daughter (who did all the research for my surgery - narrowing down the doctors to 4) was so impressed she has changed her mind and decided to go to him for her surgery next year. Now for the post-op experience: Pay for a nurse - even if you have a companion. I've heard the experience is much more attentive and proactive. I didn't because i had my daughter with me....now I wish I would have. Pain - I have had access to prescription for 100 mg. tramadol for various ailments over the past few years - although I don't use it often it is very clear I require a little stronger pain medicine than what they use in the DR. They do not use morphine, vicodin, strong narcotics etc. for pain in the DR. They do not want to create addicts, like we have in the US. Anyway, the stuff they used in the hospital/clinic didn't help much (a shot every 12 hours described by google for "mild to moderate pain"). Dr. G said he would prescribe a "stronger" pain medicine for me to take to the recovery house - it was 25 mg. of Tramadol. :) So, I'd suggest if you need stronger meds like me, get that from your personal physician before you come. They will give you a list of "approved" pain meds to bring (in their original prescribed bottles). Or, discuss with your anesthesiologist the "pain ball" which stays in an IV in your hand for 4 days (I didn't have knowledge of this until later, but another woman at the RH had one and said she had no pain.) Either way, be open with your doctor and let them know what you are taking and how often - they will have the nurses administer to you. After day 4-5, 2 extra strength tylenol was enough. Regarding items to bring: The tank tops should be soft (not ribbed) because they go next to your skin between a very tight faja - also make sure they are relatively tight fitting on your body and do not go past your pubic bone so they don't bunch up (you can cut them to be shorter). The maxi pads are for padding around areas of irritation or friction of your faja. If you have access to thick cotton surgical padding - you can cut it to be exact for your needs (because the strip on the pads can cause sweating). If not, I'd suggest thicker pads because they will flatten out. The faja and bandages around your armpits really need this cushion. Baby wipes, bring a large one with at least 100 you use them to bathe yourself. Protein bars for supplementing your diet to heal faster. Loose stretchy dresses that are at least knee length. I brought several pairs of pjs - wore them around the RH. Regarding the RH - I stayed at the one included in the quote from Dr. G (JM Recovery/Spa). They are extremely friendly and secure. They have a guard at the door until they lock up at 9 pm. This is because we all tend to travel with quite a bit of money and are in a vulnerable state. It gives peace of mind. Your team consists of a cook, a nurse, a physical therapist, a driver and a manager/owner for overall supervision. You can use "whatsapp" to summon people to your room if you need help. Room air conditioners are great/remote. My room was a little noisy because a school/playground and a barking dog - but many are not on that side of the house. You can eat your meals in your room or downstairs in the main dining room (which is not air conditioned). There's definitely some camaraderie and surgery stories to share with others and it breaks up the day and provides some company, especially if you don't have a companion with you. The food is pretty good. You get to place an order for your breakfast - so whatever you want. They will modify lunch or dinner to your taste - for example - I don't eat rice or fish so they substituted veggies and shrimp. The fruit is really delicious here. The only thing that is slightly disappointing is there is no outside sitting area. Granted I wouldn't use it for very long - since it can be very hot and humid but early morning would be a great time for a nice coffee outside. I'm sure I'll come up with some more tips....in summary, I'd highly recommend Dr. Jean Paul Giudicelli Saba and JM Recovery/Spa.
Hi there. Thanks for tour detail. I’m looking to have arm lift. Do you mind sharing a photo privately ? I want to have same exact procedures
Do you want to see the scar or just the size/shape? I still have bandages on my incision site. I see the doctor on Monday (they will change the bandages) and can ask them to take pics then.
Hi Cindy, thanks for being so helpful. If you go out of the U.S. for surgery do you have your primary care doctor change bandages and check your incision? Or do you have to get a surgeon here for that? Not sure how that works. My primary care doctor is very cautious and not very open to overseas surgeries.
If you stay the recommended length of time in the recovery house , for your specific surgery and have no complications, your incisions should be mostly closed and you (with the help of a friend) should be able to change your own bandages. They generally change them every 3-4 days. Because I wear fajas over the bandages, they really are not exposed to dirt. I do not anticipate having to see my doctor for any follow up from my arm lift and tummy tuck - unless some type of complication arises.
How much?
Are you asking about the cost?
Good, thank you for the reply.
yes the cost for your surgery
$5600 which included the 10 days in the recovery house and all testing beforehand.
Ok, I've been home from the DR for a week. Dr. G said I could remove my bandages and take a shower when I got home. They did not instruct me to put the bandages back on. However, for comfort reasons, I had my husband re-apply my bandages on my arms twice and now I've been 3 days without any bandages. Of course I am wearing my arm compression garments and my faja 23.5 hours per day. Taking it off to shower and/or apply triple antibiotic cream. My incision site on my arms (mostly armpits) are still pretty sensitive/sore and are taking longer to heal because of use/movement. The stitches are inside, so they will dissolve during the healing process and don't require removal. After the scabbing process is over, I am to apply the scar cream and moisturize my arms and abdomen. Hope this helps.
Hey would you mind sharing picture of your arms
