Still happy I did it. But the scars spread as it got closer to my arm pit. I also did a few laser treatments. Some of the tightness after the surgery did not stay long-term and I didn't gain weight. It took a good three years for scars to fade - I used a scar coverup cream.

Your arms are beautiful. Are these pics with or without the tattoo? I am having the procedure at the end of August and if I knew my arms would look like yours I would be so much less terrified! I am so scared about the scar and the pain afterwards But I just can't look at these arms anymore! I am so happy for you that it turned out so well. what do you mean that they are not as tight? They look beautiful to me

Did someone else mention tattoos? I don't have tatoos. For me, right after the surgery, (pic) my arms look pretty small. Over the next few years, they did loosen up a bit and have fat in them again (you can compare my pics). NO WHERE near what it was but there is some. Also, I would advise to try and wear the compression sleeves as long as you can - helps with the scar stretching. The scar will look pretty bad at first but you have to give it time - my lighted up (with laser treatments) after two years. But I used a great makeup to cover them up. Also, I was terrified as well. To me, the pain was not bad - I also had a breast surgery at the same time so if I can do both you can do one :) Also, I slathered on Aquafor right before I would put my sleeves back on. and the sleeves I had actually were one piece where they connected around the back of my neck. I had two of them. Any questions, let me know!!

mmcginit, Thank you for your generosity with sharing. Maybe someone else in the comments mentioned tattoo. I was confused because I didn't see them in your pic, just beautiful arms! My arms collapsed from a 23 pound weight loss...guess it was the 17% body weight more than the poundage but my arms are not heavy.....They are thin with a bunch of hanging crepey chicken fat looking skin. Ugh. Tried to live with it but just no. I pray the scars turn out like yours. So beautiful. Sincerely, I can barely detect them and they usually show more in pics! I am a dancer so hoping I will still be able to move them after recovery. I have seen reviews where people have said that their range of motion was severely affected and that is terrifying. You are brave to do two procedures. I don't have your nerve! I am thinking to post the experience to pay this forward.

Covering scars

I am 2 1/2 months into my recovery. My scars are still healing and have that pink color to them. I bought Dermablend Leg and Body Buildable Liquid Foundation and it is AMAZING!!! I went to Macy's to get a color match and then just ended up ordering it on eBay as it was about half the price.

Hi, does your doctor also perform mini-arm lifts? Were you not a candidate?

I'm sure she does. I was definitely NOT a candidate for a mini arm lift. I had waaaaaay to much fat. I'm a relatively thin person...all my fat went to my arms just looked so odd on my body.

Embrace was not for me

I used Embrace Scar Therapy and followed the instructions very carefully. But it did damage to my skin by actually pulling it off! I had to see a doctor and put medicine on my arms twice a day for 10 days. I called Embrace and they are refunding me. I am now just using BioCorneum which is a silicone gel.
