Ugh. That is the first word that comes to mind...

Ugh. That is the first word that comes to mind for me. I had lipo done - flanks and bra area. I need a partial tummy tuck, but couldn't take the recovery time off of work. My experience so far: Local anesthesia - after the procedure I got very light headed and nearly fainted (probably from the vicodin and valium) so I stayed an extra hour until I could walk comfortable. The doctor stayed with me (he totally rocks so far). The I was taped up and wore a garment for 3 days. On day 4 my dr. removed the tape and that is when the real pain kicked in. The bruising and swelling is insane. It is hard to conceptualize what will happen to your body until it does - or maybe I was too naive, but I certainly did not realize the severity of the damage. Tomorrow is one week and I feel a lot of pain - a lot. I have a sit down job and the sitting hurts more than the standing. I am wearing spanyx, but the moment I take them off I swell up like something awful. I have gained 6 pounds since the day of the surgery. I look bigger and feel bigger and sore and miserable. I can see very slight results, but everyone has told me it is because of the swelling. I can mainly tell my lower back - above my butt is different. My waist is the same - if not bigger right now. If you were to ask me today is it worth it, I would yell - HECK NO! I spent 3k, I look like I was in a car accident, if I bend wrong I have shooting pain, I have constant pain all day, the numbness and knots are crazy, and I don't really see much improvement on my figure. I ask myself daily - why would anyone do this? And women are really doing this in large numbers? Really? Oh and did I mention that actual procedure hurt like nothing I have every experienced. The recovery feels worse than my c-section. Now with all that said, I don't see the results yet.... so more to come once I do. If I end up with a to die for figure - well all bets are off! :)
