To start "racoon eyes" run in my family, and...
To start "racoon eyes" run in my family, and unfortunately I was recipient of this genetic flaw. I am also a gym freak, and my last cycle I cut my body fat from about 11% down to about 7.5% which if you dont know, is extremely lean!! As a side effect I lose a lot of volume in my cheeks, and I looked extremely "skeletal". In Dec. 2013 I had a Restyln injection done to my eyes to help with "racoon effect" . During this time with the doctor we talked about more permanent results, and thus the fat grafting topic came up... I was a little skepitcal, but decided the long term effects would be better than having to go back every 6-9 months to get injectibles. Plus it was explained that instead of using just 1-2cc's of injectibles , he would be able to transfer 20-30cc's of fat.. Needless to say this put me on cloud 9!!
After some time and research I decided to go ahead with the procedure. And like most i was extremely nervous!! The surgery was not bad at all, sure like most slightly uncomfortable, but the music in the operating room certainly helped!!... I ended up receiving 40.. YES FOURTY cc's of fat from stomach, which were redistributed evenly through out my upper and lower cheek bone areas, my eye brows, my temples and the back of my jaw line (right below your ear)
Today is 4/20 and i am currently 25 days post op ... I still have some soreness around my upper cheek bones, and the biggest thing for me has been my midsection, where the fat was harvested. It is still very tight at times, but I have been able to resume all my daily activities.. even lifting heavy at the gym...
So... Post Surgery..... Immediately post surgery i was extremely happy with the results, granted I know I was still swollen, but I was happy with how "full" my face looked!! You have to remember 40cc's is a lot!! ... I started bruising 2-3 days post op and had black eyes for about 10-12 days.... After the first 4 days i noticed I lost about 80% of the swelling, and after a week and a half about 95% of the swelling had dissipated. Now almost 4 weeks post op i have 0 swelling.
Now, between 2 and 3 weeks i was happy with my results but I wish i had kept more volume... however going into my 4th week I feel like some of the volume is coming back.. i think? perhaps its a mental thing lol.... My next check up will be roughly 3 months out post op, at which point i'll decide if i want a touch up procedure...
For anyone going into this procedure I remind you to keep you expectations within reason. I'm a taurus and like most aspects of my life, I tend to take the more aggressive approach, or expectations in this instance. So I set the bar a little high , but going into the procedure I knew that I could / would lose up to about 50% of the fat injected, so just keep that in mind going into the event

Doctor and staff were all very professional and knowledgeable, the only red flag I had about this office was it was slightly cluttered, outside of that the doctor takes his time was able to answer my questions, and was attentive to my personal needs
