WORTH IT
I was referred to Dr. Kotis because of a deep cut in my hand and he gave me a thorough examination to determine the extent of possible injury to tendons and nerve endings. In a very positive way, he allayed my fears about the damage and explained in detail the need for exploratory surgery . He scheduled emergency surgery the very next day. Sure enough, there was damage to my nerve ending and he fixed it, and closed it up with 10 stitches. He guided me all the way to recovery by giving me information to get physical therapy and three more follow-up visits to make sure I was doing alright with the injury, taking out the stitches and explaining to me the reasons to protect my hand from too much activity. He had me see a physical therapist and he counseled me to limit my activities to prevent damage to my hand . Six weeks later, I am back on the golf course and my scar from the surgery is hardly noticeable.
