Hi,
After reviewing all of your reviews, it's finally time for my own. I've been researching implants for the last 4yrs, and contemplating on getting a BA. After, discovering the ideal implant last year, I've been super excited about this breast implant. I wasn't going to choose silicone or the old saline implant by any means. I met with two physicians Dr. Seaberg, and Dr. Concannon. I liked Dr. Concannon much better then Seaberg. I wanted to see one more doctor in Arlington Heights. His name is Dr. Placik. I will tell you now that I am going with Placik. I enjoy crossfit, and doing muscle ups. The only way I wanted boobs is if I am still able to do these workouts. Dr. Placik, recommended that I go under the muscle, but after telling him what I enjoy, he said that I should be safe if I aim for the smaller size implant over the muscle. Has any other "fit" women gone over the muscle? Does it look just as good? Any reviews on going over the muscle would definitely be helpful!

Hi, I have “overs” and I think they look pretty “natural”. In fact I think my breasts look more “natural” than many that I’ve seen with unders. Of course the overall appearance will depend on how much breast tissue have and what size implants to go with. If you don’t mind me asking what size are you now? In any case if you keep them small they should look pretty natural, Imho. Btw, there’s a whole generation of PS (in the USA) that have been primarily trained to do unders and that’s all they’ll prescribe. It sounds like you found the right PS helping you make the right decision for you. Wishing you the best! :-)

Thank you for commenting on my post! I hope more women will contact me about their "overs." I agree my PS definitely doesn't do over the muscle implants. I am currently a 34 A.

You’re welcome! “Overs” are much more common across the pond (ie United Kingdom and throughout Europe) than in the USA. As one member here from the UK described to me the doctors over there are less willing to damage your pectoral muscles for a BA. If you don’t get many responses here in your journal you may want to seek out opinions from some of the UK members here. One way to find them would be through the “Find a Doctor” link above searching for UK “top core” Doctors and look for recent members reviews. I’ve observed many of their BA’s reviews are “overs”. Just a suggestion. To make it easy for you see the link below:

You’re welcome! One other idea: you can edit the title of your journal here via the edit button above. You may get some responses if you add the words: would like to hear from others “overs”... or something to that effect. That’s the one thing here we can actually edit. Good luck. :-)

Oh, and how is the recovery from going over the muscle? I want to avoid taking the strong pain killers, is it possible to get by just taking Ibuprofen?

Hi, I’ve noticed your journal is on the “Breast Inplants” treatment Board. You may also want to put the words “Getting Breast Implants” in front of your other words... to see if you can get your journal on the “Best Match” page... or in a search for breast implants. Good luck. :-)

It really all depends on your pain tolerance. However overs are considered to much less painful than unders, since there’s no cutting into the pectoral muscles. My own experience with overs is they are not painful at all. In fact the only reason I took the pain meds and muscle relaxers (prescribed) was so I could sleep on my back for the 7 days following my surgery (as instructed by my PS). I’m not a back sleeper at all. :-)

I’m about to go over the muscle also. I’m also a fit person who enjoys running.
I had one PS consultation that wanted to go under. I’m also getting a lift and he wanted to do an anchor lift. I then found my surgeon who does both procedures.I’m going over muscle and lollop lift. Less scaring and a much more natural look from all the research I’ve done.
Good luck with your research!

Thanks, I ended up going over on my second procedure that I had. Much better results

That’s great to hear!
I’ve actually changed my plans to just a lift no implants scheduled for this Thursday.
I just couldn’t be bothered with the whole implant complications that seem to be inevitable.
Fingers crossed

Anyone have any experience with this dilemma of the fitness side of things and a BA?

Hi ya'll
I have some anxiety about my last fitting. I am definitely afraid of going to big, and 300cc will make people notice that I got a BA. Sooo
Cons:
Going over the muscle and the implants being too noticable
Going under the muscle and not being able to be an average crossfitter and able to do muscle ups or any pec workouts in general
Rippling
Being too big it's uncomfortable doing a crossfit work out
Annnddd... now I am just ranting...
I stare at myself in the mirror and wonder if it's better to go under the muscle and give up my fun gymnastic fitness side of my life.. Because, I'm so lean in my chest... Going over might not look as good...

I've had 2 BA's, over the muscle in 2004 and unders 5 weeks ago. I lift weights, run, and do fitness classes 5-6 times per week. My plastic surgeon knows this and said it was safe for me to continue with that with unders. Unders 100% looks better, especially if you have low body fat like me. I feel that getting them over the muscle is a waste of money as they drop low (after 10 years) making the top part of boob flat, that's why I had to get them done again. And it's more expensive 2nd time round as they have to remove and replace. Good luck with whatever you decide.

My PS strongly advised against chest exercises primarily due to lateral displacement. Here's a good explanation from another PS I found on YouTube. Ultimately, pec exercises can lessen your time with your investments. https://youtu.be/3eTwdThiceI

wow your doctor is amazing, under the muscle if you do heavy lift the muscle will make the breast look so awful, I seeing you tube videos with girls going from under to outside the muscle the they do crossfire.. no brainer.. congrats

I'm don't know if I can achieve this look with going over the muscle..

I think I’ve heard that about hard core athletes. a lot of them opt for a modest size implant above the muscle depending on what sports they do but with tighter muscles it’s probably easier over the muscle. but I could be wrong here I’m not sure. lol
