I never expected to feel this relieved knowing that I am back to the original me. It's like a weight has been lifted. But now that they are out I'm not sure what I'm supposed to do the doctor wasn't very specific he said I could take a shower but then what what do I do where the stitches are. do I cover them do I wear a sports bra a regular bra do I keep them tight... it feels weird if I don't have support of some sort.

Question

I have seen alot of you with drains? I don't know if I will get them or not, did the Dr tell you that you would have them before the surgery? I have my pre-op visit on Monday the 15th? Just curious

My Dr said that it was unlikely I will have drains (explant and lift). He only puts them in if he thinks there will be excess bleeding. It also depends on how much of the capsule is removed. If large amounts of the capsule are removed it leaves exposed blood vessels which are more likely to bleed. And he makes a decision re. how much to remove once his in and can assess the situation. So, I won't know until I wake up if I'll have drains. But for my Dr they are not standard. However, I know many Drs put them in as standard :)

I had drains and was happy to have them. I had explant and lift and they removed the capsules, so it was important for any blood and fluids not to pool in the breasts. They were removed in 3 days. I honestly wasn't bothered by them at all. Good luck!
I have heard people on site wearing the Bali Bra, and other soft sports bras that don't have underwire.. But I can't really say. I haven't been advised yet, my op is next week. But I think a soft supportive sports bra...
