Tubular Breasts Areola Reduction - So Worth It!

WORTH IT

I'm a 23 years old female, never been pregnant. I had tubular breasts - they were saggy, uneven, set apart with huge areolas (about 9cm wide). I had areola reduction done to improve the shape, perkiness, and most importantly - my confidence. Unfortunately, I was embarrassed and unhappy with my breasts - so much I've never shown them to anyone, even despite having a boyfriend of 2 years.

I got the surgery done in Poland for 4000PLN / 720 GBP / 1010 USD.

I had local anesthesia with permanent sutures, which were removed exactly 3 weeks post-surgery. I have permanent sutures inside the breasts to keep everything in place.

For the first 4-5 days I was taking strong painkillers and I was very uncomfortable. Also, I didn't shower for the first 3 days as I was scared my sutures would pop - of course, that wasn't possible, but my breasts were so tight and sore. It got better after a week, nonetheless, now (3 weeks post-surgery) I feel mild pain when I touch the incisions.

My surgeon asked me to sleep on my back, wear a sports bra and tape my areolas 24/7. I change the tape once a week after sanitising the area with Octenisept.

I am very pleased with the results. The shape of my breasts has changed completely and it looks very natural. I plan on having a fat transfer to my breasts in about a year.

I'll keep on updating here and I'm happy to answer any questions :)

Hi, I'm from Poland and I'm thinking of getting this surgery too. Who was your doctor? Also, did your surgeon tell you for how long you you'll have to wear a sports bra and tape your areolas? Other than that I just want to say that your results look amazing already, hope everything heals perfectly well!

Hi! Thanks very much. I did the procedure at Art&Med in Krakow with Tomasz Kasprzyk. He didn't specify how long I'll have to wear the tapes and a sports bra on, but it's definitely until the 2-month post-op consultation. I believe it's useful to keep them on even longer than that as I've read somewhere that it really helps with the overall healing. I personally don't mind, it's not uncomfortable, whatsoever :) Please see the update I just posted! Happy to answer any other questions you have

5 weeks post-op

This is a 5-week post-op update. Everything seems to be healing fine. Sometimes I feel mild discomfort, but no pain. I've noticed my right areola seems a bit bigger, but it's still too early in the healing process to make any judgments. Overall, I'm very happy with the results.

I'm honestly amazed how much perkier your breasts look after this surgery, guess it works as a little lift as well :) I have one more question if you don't mind - in the previous post you wrote "I had local anesthesia with permanent sutures, which were removed exactly 3 weeks post-surgery". Not sure if I understood you correctly, were the sutures removed or are they permanent? I've heard they're essential to help prevent spreading of the areolas.

Hi there :) Permanent sutures were used for the incisions - not dissolvable - that's why they had to be removed after 3 weeks. There are also permanent sutures underneath the areolas (completely invisible) that were NOT removed - they will stay under the skin forever to keep everything in place.

Got an infection :(

Kind619668
So, I'd like to do an update.
I'm 2,5 months post surgery and my right nipple areola got infected - probably due to an allergy to the disinfectant spray or the microphone tape. I feel uneasy about it and I'm scared it won't heal properly. I contacted my surgeon by email and sent him photos - I was told to stop using the tapes and apply an antibiotic ointment for a few days with a gauze pad on top. I'll do that and change my dressing twice a day. What a bummer :(
