Second areola reduction - the areola stretched back out

I am almost 40 days post op. There is still a tiny scab left on my left breast otherwise they’re all gone. So far I love the results I’m really hoping my areola won’t spread out or that I will get a lot of pigmentation around my areola. A little pigmentation is fine but I’m hoping it won’t be too noticeable. I am definitely happy I went with a second reduction.

Thanks for your review. I'm going through the same process now, I had this surgery a year ago with dissolvable sutures and they healed poorly (widened scars) and my areolas stretched to the original size. Going in for revision surgery next month and the surgeon is giving me the option of permanent sutures which I think I'll opt for. Apparently the risk is that you can feel the sutures through the skin and it can impact the breast long term. I'm torn in my decision so grateful for people like you sharing your experience.

I love your results! Can you share who your doctor is? I've had a breast lift, but gained weight and my areolas are stretched out now. I'd love to get them reduced

3 weeks post op

Sooo I accidentally deleted pictures from when I was 2 weeks post op :/ so I just have one from 3 weeks. The last update I made was 6 days post op so there was a lot of bruising that slowly went away. My nipples started getting really dry, like flaky maybe 10 days post op and they are still pretty dry right now. 17 days post op I got my stitches taken out which kinda hurt but it was fine. I am now 21 days post op and since getting my stitches removed my areolas aren’t as itchy as before. I am also going back to work now, I work as a care taker for reference. I’ll hopefully update once the scabs completely fall off

Just wondering how long are results supposed to last without them stretching out again? I was considering this procedure but advised against it as apparently they’ll keep stretching out? What is your experience so far and what have you been advised from the dr?

Since we used permanent sutures they aren't supposed to stretch out again. I'm hoping they won't but even if they do it shouldn't be a lot. The only thing I've been advised is to wear a supportive bra and not do any motion that causes my breasts to move a lot especially jumping.

6 days post op

Elena1864
Okay so I removed the tape 2 days before going to my surgeon since he said it was okay if I did. These pictures are 6 days post op, I don’t have any newer pictures even though I am now on my 10th day post op. My surgeon did say that my right areola is smaller, probably from him pulling it tighter but he said that it should stretch out since he cut both areolas the same size. I hope he’s right and it does stretch out but otherwise I’ll probably get it tattooed. I am still glad that my right areola is smaller since so is my breast compared to my left. In 5 days I get my stitches taken out which is very exciting, I will post a picture after that. I’ I will still probably post one more before taking the stitches out. The worst part right now is that my breasts are uncomfortable from wearing a bra all the time. I have also now started doing things like shopping and hanging out with friends even though I’m pretty sure I shouldn’t lol. Thankfully I did catch a cold earlier because if I hadn’t I would’ve probably gone out with my friends when I know I wasn’t supposed to. Staying home without doing anything is really hard. Anyways I’ll keep you guys posted on my recovery.
