Areola Reduction Second Attempt

Areola Reduction Second Attempt

Ive always hated my areola. i thought they were large and puffy. I had augmentation 5 years ago and loved the results but still wasnt happy with my areolas. I lived with that for 5 years. In June 2020 i decided to undergo areola reduction but after completely regretted my decision and was left with horrible scarring and uneven nipples. Ive been obsessing over them for the past 6 months and they seem to be getting worse not better. Tomorrow im am undergoing scar revision/areola reduction with a different surgeon and im hoping this time he will get it right. It will be done in his office under local anesthesia.

Wow your nipples/areola were perfect before and it's a shame they're scarred up now. Be positive with your new procedure. Hopefully they turn out like you want them. Good luck.

Day of surgery

The procedure was done under local anesthesia so I was awake the whole time. I had a bout 10 needle sticks in each boob which wasn’t the most tolerable thing in the world but I managed. The doctor explained to me what he was doing the whole time and I felt very comfortable. There was a large sterile drap up in front of me so I didn’t see anything.
Procedure lasted 2 hours approx and I drove myself home.
I didn’t start to experience pain until about 8pm and it felt like sharp burning sensations all over my boobs. I took a Percocet and went to bed.

I hope everything works out in the end. Are you looking for much smaller than where you originally started? I truly thought your before was beautiful sorry you're going through this.

Honestly at this point I don’t care as much about size just would like to fix the terrible scarring and make them look somewhat normal. And yes I’m now realizing they were perfectly fine before and I 100 percent regret my decision to ever touch them but I have to live with the consequences now ☹️

Glad you were able to get them fixed. The scarring is hard to deal with sometimes. I find using bio oil or a vitamin E based oil with cocoa butter on my scars works best. I had a lot of healing issues after my BL/BA. Good luck.

Hey hun, I have been thinking about having this surgery for awhile, for the 1st time. Could you please tell me how much it roughly costs and the surgeon you went to? Also I have implants the person I went to see for consultation was telling me the best way to avoid scars that spread is to go the anchor incision but I really don’t want more scarring.

The first time it cost me 4500 under general anesthesia. This time it cost me 3500 under local anesthesia with a different surgeon. I had consults with other surgeons who advised the anchor lift but I really did not want that scar.

Day 6

Had a followed up appointment with surgeons office. I saw the PA. She removed my steri strips and applied bacitracin ointment. I have pleating which Is normal and should subside. My left Areola is a lot more puffy and swollen then the right but the PA said that was normal. I also think my left areola is smaller but I’m trying not freak out too early on. It hasn’t even been a week yet. Overal I’m in no pain just very itchy. She said I’m healing well and will see the doctor in a month where they will start me on scar therapy.
