I am 22 years old, 5'0" and for most of my childhood I was overweight When I was in the 11th grade I hit my peak weight at 183 lbs. In the 11th grade I was also diagnosed with PCOS and lost around 15-20lbs with Metformin. During the fall semester of my freshman year of college I gained 15lbs. I finally decided enough was enough and joined Weight Watchers. For the first time ever I was successfully loosing weight in a healthy way and I started to feel better about myself. Around two years after hitting my goal weight I had a routine checkup with my doctor asking her how I could loose what I thought was extra fat. She told me that it was skin and there was no amount of exercise I could do to get rid of it. I am in a lucky financial position where my mom was able to pay for my tummy tuck. Some people may feel it was not medically necessary for me to have the tummy tuck however I was so mean to myself and after all of my hard work we believed it was the right decision. I could not be happier. Dr. Bucky, my doctor is absolutely amazing and I could not be happier with the results. I finally feel beautiful, something I never thought possible and am beyond happy with my results. I am so happy.

Had Post-Op Appointment
sarahrosie1018December 17, 2013
So I am almost 5 months post-op and could not be happier with my results. I think my scar from my tummy tuck looks amazing and I could not be happier with the results.
I should mention that it is hard to see my plastic surgeon because I am from Philadelphia but go to school in Florida. The last time I saw my doctor was around 3 1/2 weeks post-op so it was great to see him.
The one concern I had and still have are my thighs. In addition to my tummy tuck I also had liposuction done on my inner and outer thighs. Before I had my surgery and during my pre-op appointments I was told I may need a thigh lift. My doctor told me that because it has been almost five months the results I see now are most likely not going to change. My doctor does not perform thigh lifts and he gave me the name of a surgeon. I need to make an appointment to see that surgeon the problem is that I am hardly home. I am leaving in two days for Israel for 10 days, then seeing my grandparents, then I go back to FL for school on January Fifth.
I hope to make an appointment in the near future to see if the other doctor believes I would be a good candidate for a thigh lift.
I know that this is another surgery but like I said before I have finally lost weight the healthy way and am only 22 years old. Do not get me wrong, I am so beyond happy with the results of my tummy tuck and started to wear bikinis for the first time in my life, but if there is a procedure that can help me with my body image even more I am open to it.
Attached is a photo of me in a bikini when I recently went kayaking in Florida. You can see on my left inner thigh the dent I am referring to. My doctor told me that there is so much lipo can do with the amount of excess skin I have.
If anyone has had a thigh lift can you give me any advice?
If you had also had a tummy tuck do you think a thigh lift is a harder recovery because you have two long incisions on each leg?
What was the recovery like?
Happy Holidays to everyone!

Looking good! I had TT and Lipo to inner thighs. Too soon to tell results on inner thighs but as for body size, my peak was 205lbs and I'm 145lbs now. My PS didn't mention any issues to me about excess skin yet but makes me curious because I'm older than you (I'm 39) and my skin would not be as elastic as your skin. I had Vaser 4 D Lipo which melts fat before suctioned so less likely to get uneven contour (dimples, lumps).

Congratulations on your weight loss! That is interesting. From my understanding after having a big weight loss there is always some excess skin. I was overweight ever since I was around 11 until I started losing weight at 19 years old. I think that how fast you lose weight has to do with how much excess skin you have. Again I am no expert but just from research I have done that is what I have read. I am not familiar with the type of liposuction you had but it sounds great especially since it sounds like there is less of a chance for dimples which is something I still struggle with. Good luck on your journey!

Hello Everyone!
I am sorry it has taken me so long to write a post. Like I wrote in my earlier post I was told my plastic surgeon that I may need a thigh lift. Not only did he think that but so do 10 doctors who answered a question I posted here on RealSelf regarding my thighs. I have not seen the doctor my Plastic Surgeon told me about because honestly, I do not have time to see him and a lot is going on.
Because I go to school in FL and was hardly home for my short winter break I did not have time while I was home but some other big changes are coming. I am graduating from college in May and from June-August I am working at a sleep-away-camp and from September to January I am going to be in Israel for an internship. Not only that, but my mom has recently moved from Philadelphia to San Francisco so if I were to get this procedure done it would not be for a while because of how busy I will be and moving across the country.
As far as my tummy tuck I am so SO happy. I think my scar looks great, it does not bother me at all and I am enjoying my flat tummy. I will not lie that although having the surgery has helped my body image I do become a lot more self conscious if I think I am bloated or gained a couple pounds, it is more obvious because of my flat tummy!
It is so worth it though and I am so happy!
Also, I am attaching photos of my stomach 6 months post-op as well as my thighs. Unfortunately I cannot find good photos of my thighs pre-op but I have photos of my thighs and stomach six months post-op
