I'm 61, average height and weight. I take great care of my skin with my derm (20+ years of glycolic about peels) and I'm high energy so people think I'm younger...but eyes don't lie! I decided on an upper and lower blepharoplasty after trying fillers to address the bags under my eyes. Not enough bang for the buck. My surgeon, Jackie Carrasco, was recommended by my derm. She's terrific. Had the procedure done yesterday around 11 am under anesthesia in the hospital. I had some pain yesterday for which I took Vicodin but this morning no pain at all. Lids feel tight and irritated, but she also did a TCA peel on the lids so that might account for it. Swollen, bruised, but I expected that. So far so good! Got up, showered, made breakfast today.

Hello! You look great! May I ask what procedure you had done? Did you have the transconjunctival lower Blepharoplasty with fat removal or fat repositioning? Did you also have a skin pinch? Would you be able to post an updated/recent picture? Thank you so much! I'm considering this surgery, but very nervous about it.

I had upper and lower bleph with fat removal. Not sure about the skin pinch. I am extremely happy with the results and I will post another photo, about 3 months post-op. Do I look like I'm on my 30s? No. I still have smile lines and wrinkles, and when I smile big the muscle under my eyes is there. But when I smiled before the surgery you couldn't see my eyes at all. I am very happy with the results, I've had no ill effects, and the pain was minimal.

Hello! Thank you so much for your reply! I'm glad to hear that you are so happy with the results. Looking forward to seeing an updated picture! One more quick question-did you have IV sedation or just local anesthesia with your surgery? Thanks again!

I don't think you can do lowers with local. This was done in the OR with anesthesia, actually the best anesthesia I've ever had!

you do have really nice skin; if you dont mind telling, what else do you use other than glycolic aicd peels? Thank you dear

That's it. Twenty-two years of 40% glycolic acid peels every other month with Glyderm night cream. Sunscreen at the beach. No foundation, just Aveeno moisturizer. My mother had awful skin from sun and smoking, so I learned my lesson from her! (PS thank you for the compliment!)

You are very welcome & thank you so much for replying! I do TCA peels occasionally ( at home) but now I am going to looking into glycolic ones too.

No pain but my right eye looks a little hinky. More swollen than the left. I'm only concerned because it's Friday and the weekend is coming and I'm not seeing the doctor until next week... don't want to go to the ER over something that considered normal, just looks weird to me. I've got a call in to the office.

I know how you felt. In the first week after my surgery; I was like a very asymmetrical cat lady. It’s easy to freak out if you don’t know what’s normal during this time. I was pretty worried at first.
