Aquamid Migrates and Sags Your Skin After a Few Years
I had 2 injections done in 2015 by Dr Martin Rees at his old clinic in Auckland (he has since relocated and is semi-retired), 1 injection in the upper-lip and the other below my right marionette line (side of mouth area).
The Aquamid in the upper-lip is actually not too bad, even now more than 5 years later. The injection in the side of my mouth however has been slowly migrating and now gives a sagging appearance making my mouth look crooked. I've visited multiple different cosmetic surgeons and all of them have told me that they can't remove it. Martin Rees (the Dr who did the procedure) denied any responsibility and insisted that it's impossible for Aquamid to migrate, he refused to even investigate further.
So now I'm stuck with this for the foreseeable future, I would strongly recommend that everyone stays clear of this awful substance. My biggest grievance is that both Contura (the manufacturer of Aquamid) and the cosmetic surgeons who use it are in denial of the increasing evidence that it can migrate. It was a complete waste of time and money, and I regret ever choosing this product.

Ask why so many Doctors have turned their backs on this hideous substance and refuse to use it anymore. Permanent fillers permanent problems. I’m surprised they haven’t been sued.
