One week Update

Wow! It's already been a week today! For those of you following along on my YouTube Real Self Steph Vlog, you know that my recovery has been a lot more than I had anticipated. I initially thought I would be posting a video update every day, but I honestly can hardly get through the day right now. I'm so exhausted. I stopped taking the Percoset last night, so I am feeling everything even more today. Other than getting up to get the mail, fill my water bottle, and walk my dog, I have been in bed a week straight now. I finally opened my laptop today to catch up on some much overdue studying with finals starting next week. I am finally graduating from college next month! Its a huge milestone for me at 41, and I'm happy so many life kind dreams are coming together all at once!
I get my son back from his dad for Mothers Day Sunday, so I am trying get as much rest as possible between now and then. Subscribe to my YouTube channel Real Self Steph to keep up with visual updates!

Revision surgery Day 5

Here we are at day 5 post op! I'm moving around so much better today. I showered on Sunday and this morning and that definitely helps you feel much more "back to normal".
As I discuss in the video, I'm able to move around better today but if I stand up right for too long, the incisions ache and burn and let me know it's time to lay down again. I have my first personal training client coming over today, so it will be nice to have that small return to normal for an hour today. I had to time my pain medication around the appointment, so fingers crossed tonight will be my last dose of narcotic before bed. I'm very happy with my results so far and realize that it will take the next 18 months to see the final results.

Anterior Thigh Lift with Posterior Revision

Before lift

Hello Everyone! Welcome to my thigh lift revision journey! You can find my last procedure page here as well if you are interested in comparing "before" before to my after.

During my last posterior thigh lift, I developed a small seroma due to a stitch that didn't dissolve properly. I used heat and massage to treat it, but after 6 months I picked up my burpee training (I broke the Guinness record for burpees last September). While doing the thousands of burpees required for training, my sweat drenched pants rubbed on this compromised area and I developed a staph infection. I took strong antibiotics along with having it surgically drained 4 times and it still would return. So, my doctor and I decided we would redo the surgery, both to take care of the infection and pick up the lax skin that doing all the burpees once again created. Burpees are an amazing at home exercise and they helped stream line my body, especially my legs. I know feel like my body is where it will be for the rest of my life as far as being toned as well as weight. I also developed more lose skin on my legs in the front, so we decided to do an moderate anterior approach, making crescent incisions at the top of the thigh.
