Third treatment

I just had my third treatment. I think the first treatment I had was the most effective, because they treated my whole head, and even had extra, that they handed me to take home and apply it to my scalp again, which I appreciated. When I went to the 2nd and 3rd other providers, at the appointment the doctor told me to pick one area of my head, and that's the only area they treated. (?) I would prefer to have my whole head treated, thank you very much, even if I have to have more blood drawn. I need to remember to ask that next time before scheduling any more appointments. Also, I can't seem to fix the deep burn injury damage to the follicles on the back of my head where the salon pointed the heat dryer on top of the high strength bleach that isn't supposed to touch skin. For years since then, the hair on the back of my head only grows 5 inches, boo hoo. I have to up the ante, and this time while looking for the next treatment, I am trying to get something stronger, like biod-restore or fat transfer or bone marrow transfer. I wish I had never gone to a hair salon. :(

About 2 years post

My hair had been on the decline when I got my first PRP treatment. So I can't tell if it would have continued to get worse if I had not gotten the PRP treatment. PRP may have stopped the progression. And I didn't have an actual bald spot like in alopecia areata, to easily see if the PRP made it grow back or not. So I can't exactly tell how much it worked. But I just feel like it helped in some way. I would like to have another PRP procedure or maybe a fat stem cell treatment to the scalp next time.

However, I am sad to finally admit that one particular side of my head, directly where I had the worst hair salon chemical burn (from a snooty Master Colorist at a premier ritzy hair salon who promised she could do no wrong because of all her fancy certificates on the wall), apparently had too deep of follicle damage that the PRP was not able to cure. For months I just kept thinking, I just need one more trim then that area will catch up lengthwise. Then I finally realized that hairs on that big patch are actually not growing long anymore, and they never, ever, grew more than 6 inches total in 2 years. That is their new maximum growing length, for the rest of my life. Previous to the chemical burn, I had hair down to the middle of my back that needed trims all the time. So be very careful about getting chemical treatments at hair salons. In my experience, strangely, the more expensive the salon - the more sloppy they are and the more damage they did. I only use hair salons for trims, but they are not allowed to do any chemical treatment to my hair ever again. Please be very careful.

January 14, 2018 - A strange but good side effect of PRP scalp

This is a really strange observation. But the other day I was organizing my pictures on facebook. I noticed that the pictures of me within the last couple years, look extremely younger than my pictures taken 10-15 years ago. It's consistent with different pictures taken from different people. I think that when the PRP seeped into my face from having my scalp treated, it eventually did something to my face to make it look younger. I still don't plan on having any PRP injections done directly to my face, because some people have complained it plumped up in areas in the wrong spots on their face. But I guess just having it seep gradually into my face from the top of my head was just enough to help my face.
