2 months post. Fat transfer has some survival. Not sure if I think it is worth it. My hollows are not as deep and the nasolabial folds are not as noticeable as before the transfer.

Well, I am now 1 month out and swelling has gone done. I do have fat surviving but it is hard to get a percentage without speaking to the doctor. I would guess I have about 50% at this point maybe less. The hollows do need more fat, however, I do see improvement to my hollows under my eyes and nasolabial fold area. Many doctors have posted that it is better to do less rather than more. So far I can say I am happy with the fat transfer. My next visit to PS is next month and will update then.

Sorry to say that it is 17 days post and already I can see my face going back to the hollow look under my eyes and nasolabial folds are starting to show.

Gosh that stinks!! I dont think the surgeons are very up front about the percentage of failure on the fat transfers! I dont think ANY of it stayed on me! I kept telling my doc I needed resty put here and there because those areas seemed depressed again and he kept giving me excuses not to because, I guess, he didnt want to admit that the fat that he had put in those areas was GONE! Im not gonna blame him because I reabsorbed it..thats not his fault but just be honest! It fails! And if it does they should make it right at least at a reduced price!

MamaGun - just want to say thank you again for keeping up with my post. Today, I am just over 3 weeks out and I cannot tell where I am in the process. I read that by 4 weeks that all of your fat had been reabsorbed back into the body, so that is what I am using as a comparison at this point. Funny that I keep hoping it does not go down any further for I feel better about the hollows and folds than I did before. Reading doctors posts I noticed that the fat settles for about 3 months. Wow - that is a long time to wait out the process. If a good amount stays (at this point) I will try another fat injection. My doctor so far has been wonderful and is working with me. What is your thought on PRP with the fat injection since some of the doctors seem to believe it does help keep the fat survive.

There were many points...I like the fact that it gave very very important facts regarding the fat transfer procedure...for example facial fat transfer will produce asymmetrical results more often than not, especially when placed under the eyes, it will produce bags under the eye....and it demonstrates how to tell you when doctors are being deceitful and hiding facts so that you can avoid being tricked

Thank you for sharing your experience. Do you know if he used the method where they spin the fat first as I thought that procedure was suppose to make the fat take better. Hope to hear from you and that you get some benefit from the procedure.

Thank you for sharing my journey. No, the doctor did not use the spin process. I have read about the spinning of fat and using platelet rich plasma. Would love to have those who have had fat transfer to face using the process mentioned join in and tell us all how well it has worked.

The doctor I used did not spin the fat. He used a cheese cloth. I do have a good amount of fat that has survived.
