I scheduled a mini facelift with Dr. French in Annandale VA. He did my daughter's breast inplants and she is happy with the results. After talking with 4 doctors, I decided to go with him. My surgery is scheduled for March 30. I am new in this website and I need some advised on what to do before surgery. Do I need to take vitamins or anything for bruising and swelling one week before surgery?I will post pictures later on.

I just found out last week that flaxseed oil is also a no, no a week before surgery. As u most likely know that u should not take vitamin E and Fish oil during that time also. My PS had me take Biotin, and oral Arnica Montana. Good luck.

I wouldn't start anything until you have the ok from surgeon. When I had my pre-op (2 weeks before surgery) I received a binder that had everything I needed to know on how to prepare before and after. Each physician is different in what their protocals are so I would suggest not starting taken anything without her/her consent or suggestion. So many things can have an impact on surgery and the result, all questions should go to doctor or patient coordinator. The one thing that most of us do use is Arnica Montana pre and post surgery, but that is for the surgeon to decide. You'd be surprised what supplements may be blood thinners and cause extensive bruising post sx. This is an exciting time, make a list of questions, concerns, etc. to take with you at your next appointment. Good luck

Yes, nearly everyone says increasing Vitamin C, before and after surgery helps. Also, increase the quantity and quality of your protein intake (but not fish). Don't take herbal supplements, vitamin E, fish oil nor too much sugar, so as not to hurt your ability to stop bleeding. I too love Costa Rica; Dr. Arguello was my surgeon. All my best wishes go out to you. Having a positive attitude is the very best thing you can do for yourself. Once you are past the discomfort of the first 48 hours, the hardest thing is making yourself take it easy, after that. You will be so happy it is all over with, you will want to go out dancing (or jogging, like Epona).

Just make sure you saw photos of face lift patients. Working in the plastic field for many years you have boob guys and face guys ---- totally different ---

Plus look at the women who work in the office. What do they look like, most have probably had work done by that PS.
