My melesma started after I gave birth 7 years ago....
My melesma started after I gave birth 7 years ago. I am not on bcp or any other medication. 3 months after giving birth I started using triluma that the doctor prescribed but stopped just after a few days because it burnt my skin. Last month I decided to treat my melesma again. I went to a different dermatologist and she convinced me to use triluma again. I followed her advice and started applying triluma again. The first 5 days my skin was so dry and burnt that I had to apply diaper cream (desitin) on some areas on my face. It's been 14 days since using triluma religiously every night and I see a huge difference. My skin is still dry but I put a lot of mosturizer and it helps. I also apply 70 spf broad spectrum sunscreen every morning. I'm very happy with the result and will continue using triluma despite the itching and dryness. Dr suggested I use triluma for 3 months.
