Getting Rid of Sun Spots - Ann Arbor, MI

Bummed out
$700
I had 2 treatments and I am upset that there wasn't much change. I spent over $700 on two treatments and I feel like I don't want to continue with a 3rd treatment because the change I see is not worth it. I also want to mention this last photo was after going on a cruise and putting spf 50 sunblock on every 2 hours or more. I don't think my sunspots were effected by the sun. Should I try a 3rd treatment?

I feel your pain on paying for something with no results. In 2016 I went to an Aesthetician who works out of Dermatology office. For $125.00 she zapped 15 dark spots all on my legs upper and lower the results were fantastic. Most the spots were totally gone or just a very light spot left. This month April 2017 they were offering a 25% off on IPL treatment so I quickly scheduled an appointment for my upper back and shoulders which are covered in sun freckles and darker flat spots the procedure with discount was $450.00. It has only been over a week but I am not seeing much change in fact the sun freckles look worse. There are a few spots that have turned darker which I feel will flake off but overall I feel cheated. I had such good results on the first go around in 2016 that is why I had no hesitation about doing the procedure again. I don't quite understand what the difference is this time. In fact they clinic was touting a new IPL machine that was much stronger requiring only 1 to 3 treatments versus the 3 to 6. I am going to give it another week to see some changes and then I plan on complaining. Guess I am just venting but like many of us on this site we save our hard earned money for these procedures.

If it were me, I would keep going back until they are gone and ask for a free treatment- especially if the technician said they would be eliminated by the treatments. However, you did go into the sun... And despite sunblock, your skin will produce melanin- but it does look as if the overall tone of your arm has improved as well as the overall clarity. I think those areas may be deeply pigmented in the skin, but should be treatable - or maybe get a second opinion.
