I'm scheduled to have african american rhinoplasty with Dr.Malhotra very soon! Can't wait... been wanting this for a while now. I chose doctor Malhotra because he is double board certified, is very nice and sweet, is local, and also affordable. I've met with him twice so far and plan on meeting him once more the day of my procedure of course. If you all have any advice please feel free to fill me in.

He had only 2. They did have a previous AA client contact me and she sent me pics. Not really too many AA'S allow their pics to be in the office book of viewing. Even the ones here on realself. I saw 2 girls from his realself page as well, but even they weren't in his office books.

Do you have an ideal nose that you showed him? Are you getting an implant?
User Avatar
December 9, 2016
Nope I didn't show him ideal noses I just showed him some before and afters of other people and said I want my change to be that drastic. Lol he seems like a very conservative Dr sometimes. After that he told me I would need to have my nose broken to get my bridge slimmer. I asked about implants and he said he prefer not to use them and that he didn't belive I would need one.

best of luck to you. I need a revision Rhinoplasty bad. I been looking for a doctor for at least a year near my area. After my first rhinoplasty went bad I been skeptical of everyone that claims they are good. My doctor was even on Oprah and he botched me. I hope yours turns out amazing.

Silicone implant?

User Avatar

So I had spoken to another surgeon who said I would need a silicone implant on my bridge in order to see results. I've been hearing a lot of conflicting information on that. I don't think Dr.Pramit even uses implants but I wonder if he would be able to build me a bridge from my own tissue? I'm starting to really get scared. I certainly hope I made the right decision with him. Everyone I've spoken to says that he seems like he really holds back on the full potential. I don't want super drastic results but I definitely don't want a subtle change. Just 12 more days... ugh do you guys think I need an impant or grafting to my bridge?

Good luck.

Not sure why an implant was suggested. Don't know much about them. Sorry I'm not more helpful. But whatever you decide take your time, its your beautiful face and you're worth it.

Ask him to show you the implant. Does he have to break your nose?
User Avatar
December 24, 2016
Yes he will be breaking my nose but he doesn't use implants or grafting to the bridge. I wonder how it will turn out. Kinda worried...
December 24, 2016
Don't be worried go with your instinct

Bruised and bloody

User Avatar

So I'm on day 2. Day one was horrible. I'm sure today will be just as horrible. My nose bled all yesterday. I still am draining blood and other stuff. My bottom lip is swollen. Around my eyes are swollen. I'm not in any pain but the pain killers help me sleep. I had the hardest time sleeping. My tongue felt like leather when I did wake up in between my 1 hour naps. Doctor called and checked on me this morning and so did the hospital where I had the surgery. The pictures I am posting show my drip pad. If you have a weak tummy don't look. It's not a pretty sight. I've been drinking lots of water and I ate some icecream for dinner and scrambled eggs for breakfast.lol I feel like shhhiiiatttt..... that is all.

Do you have the tampon like things up your nose? It's looks nice thus far. It's painful, costly and timely to be beautiful but it pays off in due time.
User Avatar
December 30, 2016
Nope. I have nothing up my nose. The nurses were surprised he didn't pack my nose. Thanks hun. For a second I thought it maybe looked too pointed at the tip. I'm hoping it comes out as beautiful as yours.
December 30, 2016
Thanks by the way.. Wait a minute... no packing? What did you have done? Do you have stitches?
User Avatar
December 30, 2016
Yea I have stitches. He broke my nose, built my tip, made my nostrils smaller and narrowed my bridge. No implant. A full open rhino. My nose is free flowing lol. I like the way it looks with the cast on. Can't wait to see it without.
December 30, 2016
Consider yourself blessed not to have endure the packing. That alone was the worst ordeal to me.
User Avatar
December 30, 2016
But i can't breath out of it. Feels stuffed up. Might as well be packed. Lol
December 30, 2016
Looking good! (i'm ignoring the blood lol) I was so used to my cast by the end of that week I was going shopping and to the movies with no worries haha what day is your cast removal next week?
User Avatar
December 31, 2016
It's on Wednesday. The worst part is I have class that morning. Did you have stitches around your nostrils?
January 2, 2017
I did have stitches, I was able to hide the removal site with a bit of make up I dabbed on with a qtip. The wound wasn't completely healed for me at the time so I'd say it's a judgement call.
January 1, 2017
Why is it stuffed? Is it like having a cold stuffed or no airway passage stuffed?
User Avatar
January 1, 2017
It was like no air way passage stuffed. Now it's like having a cold stuffed. I can breath out of it a Lil now. Just a lot of gunk and swelling still. I always had allergies so my nose is usually runny, now it can't run out. Lol but my cast came off, my nose was too oily. But I love what I saw. Swelling and all. Lol I can only imagine how it will look 2 weeks from now!

What did you end up doing? Implant or no implant?
User Avatar
January 4, 2017
No implant. My doctor doesn't use then or grafting unless extremely necessary.
User Avatar

Ok, I used cartilage to build my bridge. I didn't like the idea of the implant
