I'll be four weeks post-op this Friday. I had my second follow-up appointment yesterday where they removed 3 stitches that hadn't dissolved on their own. I finally got the constriction wrap removed and on to a regular bra (no underwire) and instructed to sleep in an athletic bra.

This whole process has been such a journey but I have absolutely NO REGRETS. As I sit here at my desk, stretching my neck out, remembering what it was like to have that constant neck and shoulder pain ... and it's GONE! I feel fabulous and light and this decision to explant was SO worth it.

The best part - I went for a bra fitting after my appointment and I'm a 36C. They're saggy and mushy but they're all mine. I honestly don't think I look that much different in clothes at all. With the implants, my breasts were a lot wider but I really don't think the profile and how much they stick out is very much different. I love that my boobs aren't in my underarms anymore.

100% satisfied customer here. I wish the several PS's I spoke to wouldn't have tried to scare me so much, telling me I'd regret having them removed. I love the new REAL me, saggy, squishy boobs and all.

Karen, I am in clive, ia and have been meeting with PS's to have an explant. Can you tell me who did yours and if you are happy with the PS? Thanks!

I'm two weeks postop and feeling really good. I went back to work 3 days ago and ended up having to leave early (tried to do too much, too soon). So many things feel different - when I wear my heels, I feel wobbly (maybe weight redistribution...I'm not used to being lighter in the chest area). Whatever it is, it's strange, but I secretly love it. Yesterday was my first day of feeling REALLY good.

I uploaded my 2 week postop photo. I'm really happy with the size - I do feel like they're extremely saggy. My PS said to wait until 6 months postop to decide if I want the lift - while I feel like I need one, I don't think (at this point), I want to undergo any more surgeries. Push-up bras will be my new best friend.

I do still have some drainage from the right one - hopeful that it stops soon. The few remaining stitches are itching like crazy (so I assume that means they're healing). Still have to wear the compression wrap for another week and a half and then hopefully on to an athletic bra. Bottom line - still no regrets. I couldn't be happier with my choice to explant.

You're looking great! You still can't wear a sports bra? I'm surprised, I had my surgery the same day as you and I've been in one since the first day. I find the drastic variation in doctor's advice so strange!

You look wonderful!!! Awesome results--and you look feminine and real and natural and wonderful! I went to Melmed--compression bra on day 2, worn for ten days, then a regular bra. I found a great stretchy supportive bra with really small "shape pads" in it--I also wore a lot of GAP sports bras. Happy healing--emotionally and physically. You've made a stellar decision to promote your health!! XOXO!

Day 6 post op - Just had my follow-up appt and drains removed. The right side removal hurt a lot (worse than anything I've experienced thus far) but I couldn't hardly feel the left one. It feels so much better already not having those tubes. I feel lighter and able to do so much more. My dr advises wearing the gauze wrap for an additional two weeks and then moving to a sports bra. Did anyone else have to do this? Seems like everyone else was able to move to a sports bra now, which is what I really want to do (this gauze wrap completely smashes me down, makes my boobs look non-existant). I go back in two weeks and am supposed to wear the gauze until then - I go back to work next Wednesday and really don't want to wear the gauze (EVERYONE will absolutely notice).

yes, i had to wear an ace bandage wrap for nearly a month...and it was late spring/summer. I actually went and bought some stylish scarves/loose tops to help conceal, otherwise I literally looked like a boy :) hang in there and congrats!!!

I did not think of scarves, thank you!! I feel like an idiot right now with the ace bandage chest :) Perfect winter cover-up.

No gauze, but I have been in a super tight surgical bra with a zipper in the front provided by my PS since right after surgery. It completely smashes me down too, and I'm supposed to wear it for a few more weeks I think.

I had explanation and capsulectomy on 12/26. I see doc today hoping to have drain taken out. Am shocked at how flat I am! I only had implants less than a year but had bad capsular contracture in both. I am grateful to all of you-I am learning more here than from my surgeon. I am bummed - turn 50 in 2 weeks and my dream was to have cleavage for this part of my life. Guess new dreams are in order!

Hi, i think everyone is a different case. I had to have a surgical bra on for 15 days and now im allowed to wear any bra as long as its not underwire. I am wearing a very light bra for the moment, no padding, no wire, like a sport bra...just think time will go quick and soon you will be able to wear beautiful bras :) i still havent found a bra that fits, since im so small :( but still searching..

Congrats on your explant! You look great and I am glad you are happy :) About the sports bra - I came home from the surgery with a surgical bra on, but it was exactly like a sports bra, but it hooked in the front. That is all the doctor cared about, that I didn't have to lift my arms over my head to put it on. He is a very conservative and cautious doctor...
