I live in Canada and have always thought about hair transplantation. After doing a lot of research and cost consideration, I ended up choosing Dr. Ekrem Civas's clinic for the hair transplant. The Clinic's foreign consultant Patricia was able to answer all my intial questions via email.

We setup a date and I sent all my flight information. Upon arrival in Ankara, I was picked up by a driver who had a sign with my name on it. I was driven to the hotel, Koza Suites, where I began my stay. The hotel is quite nice with a complementary breakfast everyday consisting of Turkish food. I tried the room service a couple times and the food was above average.

The next day I walked to the clinic for the initial consultation. I was greeted by very friendly staff in a cozy office environment. I liked that the clinic was intimate and that only one hair transplant is performed per day. The staff are very friendly, speaking Turkish and then the corresponding English word, in an attempt for you to pick up a few words.

The doctor was very friendly and open to all my questions. He designed my hairline and showed me what areas would be covered and how they would be covered. While leaving the clinic, I asked about restaurants for Turkish food, and the doctor immediately had the staff call me a taxi which routed me to a nice kebab restaurant. This was a nice gesture. I left feeling satisfied with my choice of clinic. I walked around the main street a bit before retiring to my hotel room.

The next day was the procedure. I woke up early to eat breakfast and then made my way to the clinic. The proximity of the hotel to the clinic is wonderful, you could literally run there in a minute! The morning started with shaving my head and the doctor going over the entire day. I was greeted by a friendly team of nurses that have worked with the doctor for many years.

The doctor began by numbing the various areas of my head. This was a little painful but nothing to cry about. The morning was the extraction of grafts from the donor area which were then put into tiny petri dishes. I was pretty much awake during the entire procedure, watching TV here or there or listening to the staff talk in Turkish.

Lunch was a short break involving pasta and soup. The afternoon involved the placement of the grafts on my recipient area. The surgery took about 8-9 hours. I was then bandaged and shown how to wear a cap. A nice dinner was delivered to my hotel room that night courtesy of the clinic.

The following day was my post operation shampooing and care tutorial. This went well and I bid the staff goodbye.

All in all, I am very satisfied with the clinic I chose. The doctor and staff were very friendly and professional. I am hoping the results will be good!

Did you really pay 5k cad?
He paid 4800 euro which is 6800 cad.
Yes it was 1.50 Euro a graft. When I first did the review it asked for the cost and I entered 4800 thinking it was Euros. However, since I put Turkey as my clinic location, I think it interpreted it as Turkish Liras and initially showed ~1600 CDN. I believe that some other reviewers may be experiencing the same issue.
