I had my first breast implant augmentation surgery in 2005. At the time I consulted 4 different doctors in my area. I live in Ranch Cucamonga California area. My genetic breast size was 34 A-B. After my first breast augmentation surgery I was a 34 C-D. My PS suggested 400 ml saline HP implants. At that time silicone was not approved for cosmetic surgery by the FDA. I was very happy with my results. My boobs looked great. Very natural looking and with the right bra they were curvaceous and lovely. I went back to him in 2009 to inquire about a second surgery for bigger implants. He assured me I look great and did not need to go bigger. My doctor is very modest and conservative. He strives for the natural look with the least amount of invasiveness. After consulting with him I decided to wait. HOWEVER...Fast forward to 2016 (present time).

I decided it was time for an upgrade. Not only were my booby implants over 10 years old but as I fluctuated in weight throughout my years, I started to feel rippling and the sense of having a half filled "water bag" in my chest. My breast never looked "bad" but I felt I needed new ones. I went back to my original doctor. I expressed my concerns. He recommended me once more that another surgery was not necessary for me. He expressed that bigger implants would need a different incision placement due to the fact that my nipple was too small to use the same incision. Also I have no children so my nipples are not too enlarged. He said bigger implants bigger problems in the future, BUT if I really wanted to he would service me. I admire his professionalism and honesty. This is how you can tell a PS is not out for your money. But i decided to keep my options open and shop around because regardless of a professional opinion, I was super set on " going BIGGER". I was then referred by a friend to a PS in Pasadena CA. His office was super fancy. His consultation consisted of pictures. After pictures were taken, I explained to him that I wanted to bigger boobs and that I wanted to use the same nipple incision from my very first BA. He introduced me to what seemed like a confusing numerous amount of implant types shapes and sizes. He recommended one of the many Natrelle HP 700 silicone implant. He also suggested a alternate surgery to repair muscle to my "side boob" according to him, they drooped too low and went off to the sides to far. He also said he could successfully use my original incision on my nipple through the use of a keller funnel. I was thrilled about all his advice and ALMOST SOLD! After a verbal consult he showed me and my bf into his fancy office. He has a HUGE computer screen that showed me computerized enhanced images of how my breast would look AFTER my augmentation. I have to admit it was pretty awesome seeing my big 'ol boobies on big screen. This doctor was super knowledgeable and professional. However his price was absurd.

RANT: Seems to me that some people pay for the location and the luxury of the surgical center. Pasadena PS was asking almost 8K for BA . Don't get me wrong this doctor seemed totally legit. Very professional, patient and very knowledgeable. And a close friend of mine had several surgeries with him and looks amazing. BUT I can see how people can fall a little gullible and be swayed by the fancy surgical center that comes with mint iced water, smell of lavender upon entering, waterfalls in the waiting room and fancy technology that can show you how you would "potentially" look.

After my consult with him I thought "what was I thinking". My original doctor was amazing and very professional, Best of all he was charging HALF what the other PS was charging me. Mainly due to the fact I was a returning client and I have sent him countless clients. So I went back to him a few months later for a second consult this time I also inquired about LIPO !

For my final Consult with my PS, I asked him about the side boob drooping and if I needed any repair to the muscle. He explained I didn't. He explained that a HP silicone implant is slightly wider than the HP saline implant. So a 700 ml silicone implant would fill in my breast implant pocket nicely and give the volume I needed. He also stated those type of invasive procedure are for people who have breast fed or need a lift because they had excess skin and increased droopiness as well as added support. I was happy to hear that considering previous PS recommended the repair procedure. He was also adamant about not going through the same nipple incision and going through the infra-mammary crease due to the size of my nipple and a larger silicone implant being placed. Although I was not ecstatic about having a surgical incision under my boob, I trusted my doctor.
