Scars

WORTH IT
I was asked what my scars looks like here it is 8 weeks later looking great and fading quick. I love my new arms, I just using mederma, to help the scars fade even faster. I don’t scar very well in general but these turned out fabulous, very easy recovery, I couldn’t be happier.

You look fabulous. I have been researching this for 2 years and am terrified about the scars and the recovery. If I would know that I would turn out like you I would be on the table already! Thank you for sharing.
Amazing results! What did your doc charge for this procedure?
Thank you it was 5800
I had it done October 16, 2019 My left aaarm developed a bad infection. Took 3 different antibiotics and 3 weeks for it to heal Doctor was worried. I'm thinking age has a lot to do with the healing. I'm 79. Doing OK. Doctor says to use bio-oil on scars. and to keep them wrapped. I bought a compression garment that I will wear. However during infection my arms were unwrapped. He took about 5 inches off. But they are still big. But I can now wear my clothes. I always had trouble getting into the armholes and that's why I did it.
Congratulation on doing it and I am sorry about The affection that must’ve been very scary I think with any plastic surgery there’s always that risk of infection
Dear bbl0472 , may I ask you your approximate age? I want to have my arms operated but I was thinking of having only a liposuction. My arms are bigger than yours were but I thought the skin would subside after surgery in combination with exercise. Thanks!
Hi I was 40 last year when I had it done. Liposuction is great I had it done on my thighs first but then went with If I left anyway because I didn’t like how loose the skin was after that best wishes.
Huh?
I am so sorry I am just seeing that this made absolutely no sense. I had liposuction done to my thighs not my arms, I did end up having a thigh lift afterwards as I was not happy with liposuction alone on my thighs. I didn’t consider liposuction for my arms I was more concerned with the redundant skin underneath and did have a lot of fat in them it was more just loose skin.

Thanks for sharing your photos - it's great to see your results!

Can you post any more pics please to show the area of the scars
I just updated my post. My scars are are on the underside of my arms as to maximize taking of enough skin and avoiding the bicep.
Hi- you mentioned “avoiding the bicep”- I just had an arm lift down 3 1/2 weeks ago and have been getting lots of pain on my right bicep (strong enough to wake me every night for over a week now). I have an appointment with my surgeon next week to see what is going on. Is there anything you can share with me regarding this? My surgeon made the incisions on the back part of my arm from pit to elbow. He said this would be the best way to remove as much skin as possible (I’m a gastric bypass patient with 95lb weight loss). Thanks in advance!
Bicep pain is common unfortunately and is caused by swelling. You will swell up to 6 weeks depending on your activity on a given day, I would do ibuprofen and would rub Arnica Cream on my biceps make it feel better. It does go away call mine didn’t go away completely until around six weeks. Congrats on the weight-loss I too am a gastric bypass patient.
Thank you so much! That makes a lot of sense. Congratulations on your weight loss, too- we know it is not the easy way out, by any means! Many blessings to you on your continued journey!
Are you single or do you live with someone? I've read about how difficult it is to function on your own after arm surgery.
My husband was there to help me but honestly I didn’t really need it, recovery from an arm lift is way easier than any other surgery I have had.
Your arms look great! Was this done using liposuction only? Or do you have a scar?
I do have scars that are in the back of my arms, no liposuction.
You mention "4 procedures" and you have a scar???? If you had surgery, why 4 times????
I have had 4 procedures with the same surgeon I first had a posterior body lift, my second procedure I had my saddle bags and stomach done, the third procedure was an inner thigh lift and then my arm lift was my fourth.
