How it works
  • Our highly-trained Review Moderation team evaluates all reviews before they're published to ensure they're written by people like you and not a member of a doctor's office.
  • This multi-step process takes up to 24 hours from review submission to publication.
  • Doctors can't pay to have reviews removed or hidden.
  • Reviews are only removed at the reviewer's request or if they violate our Terms of Service.

If you have questions or believe we should re-evaluate a published review, let us know.

I have been a "real self" stalker for the last few...

I have been a "real self" stalker for the last few months and decided to add my voice to help other ladies with stories like mine. I was diagnosed with Stage IIb breast cancer in Feb 2008. Opted for lumpectomy, chemo and 53 radiation treatments. Still alive, kicking (and damned happy about it!) seven, almost eight years later! (Yay ME!!!)
I had one vaginal birth, one c-section, and one appendix removed (as a child). All that has led to a very lumpy belly. I also carry around about 15 pounds of excess weight (148 pounds this morning). The various dents, divots and general thickness have pared my wearable closet down to about 2 pairs of jeans, some yoga pants, some ill-fitting shorts, a few knit tops, and loose fitting sundresses. I used to love how I looked in clothes. Not anymore. I would rather not go out than have to get "dressed."
A good friend that I hadn't seen for a year or so revealed that she had had a tummy tuck, lipo, and breast implant replacement. She says she has never felt better! That got me thinking seriously about doing something about my war zone. I made an appointment for a consultation with her doctor and have not looked back.
The S.A.F.E. lipo procedure will be used to trim my flanks and upper abdomen, some fat harvested will be used to fill in around the scar tissue on my right breast, the left breast will be lifted, diastasis recti will be corrected, and a pillow stitch tummy tuck will be performed. Insurance will cover a small portion that involves cosmetic breast reconstruction.
I go in for blood work and to set up the account at the hospital on Oct 13; my actual procedure is Oct 21. My PS recommends an overnight stay. I will probably have a drain (or two) due to the lipo. I am getting very excited, a little nervous. I have so many more things I want to say, but I am curious if this will upload. Please send me well-wishes and feedback (or tell me if I'm boring, haha!)
I will try to post plenty of pictures.
