Thank you so much pshannon. This really helps me a lot. How are you coming along with your recovery. I hope all is well. When you listed protein what are you referring to? Do you mean the protein I would get from meat? I would think that is a bit much to consume post op. If so, how far into recovery should I consume meat?

Yes chicken breast and salmon, you have to eat for strength you will be starving the 2nd week. I'm 3weeks post, starting to feel better. Forgot to add stool softer to the list and plan to take at least 3 weeks off work.

I have been carrying my little friend around for 31 years now. Through children, hysterectomy and extreme weight loss Time to say bye bye to the old baggage. 51 years young it's time to put some time and effort into taking care of me. 6 weeks pre op. A little anxious. Any suggestions for pre and or post op. I want this journey to try and be as easy as possible.

I take and roll the skin and lift it up. If I feel any hardness I squeeze and roll it around between my fingers. It hurts, but it busts up the scar tissue and eventually all you will have is a slight scar on the outside of the skin if it heals well. I have zero scar tissue under all my other surgeries. This last one is really bad. I also have used suction cups on the skin. It really does feel good later. Since you are at 10 months you should be very well healed by now, so you can be more aggressive with working on the scar. I also took vitamin E capsules and punctured them with a needle and squeezed the oil on the scar. My scar itself looks great where I fixed it, but under where he cut is all a mess. I have also found that taping the skin together is much better than using stitches in my case. My skin looked great where I told him to not sew me up like frankenstein again like he did the first time. A good surgeon who take this time to sew you up nicely is are. Most just sew you up and could care less what it looks like. The skin loves to be taken care of! LOL.
