Please share your feelings about this surgery now sine youve had the surgery I hope

Hello Loreal1021. I have no regrets on having this surgery. I have an amazing surgeon, I am following his recovery instructions and all is well. Not much pain other than my back. Everyone's recovery and experience is totally different and for me this has not been so bad. Again, no regrets.

How are you feeling now? Any complications with scar tissue or pain if you exercise? Thanks for posting your review with pics. Views with pics are so much better and help a lot.
December 12, 2017
I'm feeling really good. There are some days where I feel some tightness. My scar is slowly fading. But it's so low that it doesn't bother me. It's still healing. On occasion it itches but otherwise I am doing just fine. One year post op in February. Loving the flat side.

Thanks for replying!! I had a bad surgery experience and have lots of scar tissue pain and little round knots under the skin now. It is still causing me pain. It has only been 9 months, so I am wondering if I am just being impatient. I have never had these kind of issues with any previous surgeries. I was told I needed to get all tat scar tissue removed. I have a very long hard lump under skin and it will not go away matter how much massaging I do.
December 12, 2017
Ooh sounds painful. I massage my scar when I shower. I don't have any painful knots. This is 10 months for me. All I have is occasional itching around my scar
December 12, 2017
That is why I think something is wrong under the skin. I never get knots like this.
December 12, 2017
Please contact your PS. That sounds serious.
December 12, 2017
I have seen several docs. They never usually like to redo another doctors mess or mistake.
December 12, 2017
I don't know. There has to be a solution. I am making an appointment to follow up with my PS for my 1 year anniversary. I want to make sure I am on the right track.
December 12, 2017
I wish you good healing and progress! Nothing worse than trying too get better and then getting hurt and made much worse. Good luck. I am glad you are doing well and appreciate your post on your progress.
December 12, 2017
Yes, thank you. I wish you well and healthy healing. And please please contact your PS. There may be something he or she can do. Good luck.
December 12, 2017
Thank you!! Keep up the massaging of the scar. Emu oil is great for that, too.
December 12, 2017
Wow. Thank you. Never heard of that oil.
December 12, 2017
I'm always looking for something that will work. Not necessarily speed the process but work no doubt. Rome was not built in a day. :)

I have had previous surgeries and I did really good, but this last surgery I was really butchered up inside. I cannot fix it like I did my others. I had my thyroid removed and a c-section, and also a hysterectomy. You cannot even tell I had those surgeries. This surgeon was just a butcher.

I take and roll the skin and lift it up. If I feel any hardness I squeeze and roll it around between my fingers. It hurts, but it busts up the scar tissue and eventually all you will have is a slight scar on the outside of the skin if it heals well. I have zero scar tissue under all my other surgeries. This last one is really bad. I also have used suction cups on the skin. It really does feel good later. Since you are at 10 months you should be very well healed by now, so you can be more aggressive with working on the scar. I also took vitamin E capsules and punctured them with a needle and squeezed the oil on the scar. My scar itself looks great where I fixed it, but under where he cut is all a mess. I have also found that taping the skin together is much better than using stitches in my case. My skin looked great where I told him to not sew me up like frankenstein again like he did the first time. A good surgeon who take this time to sew you up nicely is are. Most just sew you up and could care less what it looks like. The skin loves to be taken care of! LOL.
December 12, 2017
*Suppose to say a good surgeon who takes his time to sew you up nicely is rare.
December 12, 2017
I was taped all the way around except at the very end on both sides. I had maybe 5-7 staples. Explain please what do you mean suction cups. I have truly never heard of that technique.
December 12, 2017
They are suction cups that some use for therapy to get good circulation in the muscles. They are cups connected t a handle like pump that you hold. They use them on on backs and people also use them on their legs for cellulite. You can use them with oil and then glide them across the skin while the skin is pulled up into the suction cup. You can control the suction by squeezing the handle. I bought a whole set on eBay. They come in different sizes. I have used them on my face, too. They do leave purple marks if you use too much suction, but it goes away. Kind of like a sucker mark. It hurts if you do it too hard, but also feels good if that makes sense.Just do a search on eBay for them.Search Chinese suction cups. I am not sure if I am allowed to give a link. I think I paid about $12.00 or something for my set. But just rolling the skin between the fingers with oil frequently every day really helps the scar.

Thank you so much pshannon. This really helps me a lot. How are you coming along with your recovery. I hope all is well. When you listed protein what are you referring to? Do you mean the protein I would get from meat? I would think that is a bit much to consume post op. If so, how far into recovery should I consume meat?
November 12, 2016
Yes chicken breast and salmon, you have to eat for strength you will be starving the 2nd week. I'm 3weeks post, starting to feel better. Forgot to add stool softer to the list and plan to take at least 3 weeks off work.
