Two Plus Years After my Facelift...and Here's What I Think...
Well it's been 2 1/2 years since my facelift, brow lift, and eyelids were done. The left side of my cheek near my ear is still numb and I'm settled on know I it will always be numb. The neck had a vertical roping of the skin...and when pointing it out to the doctor, he said he "didn't notice anything" (which is code for I don't want to fix it at my expense). My eyes immediately after surgery developed chronic dry eye and I have been putting in overnight eye ointment and drops ever since with no medical remedy working. My jowels are still here and now even more pronounced. Was it worth it...well my brow isn't as heavy looking and the wrinkle between my eyes is gone. My lids look more youthful (but it took about a year for my eyes to settle in and look more natural). My heavy turkey neck is gone but left with some "unnatural" looking effects. Still have mixed feelings...overall it's "ok". PLEASE wait at least six months before you review the procedure and the doctor as you need to get past the "honeymoon" period when everything looks so different and great. The doctor made me sit down at a computer in his office and write a review at 6 weeks post op. Allow the procedure results to settle in to see how you look...and how you feel.
Face lift, brow lift, upper and lower eye lids...now 18 months post op
To clarify...I had a brow lift, upper and lower eye lids and face lift - neck focused. Dr. Robinson also recommended a chin implant which I thought was a bit too much to do and not a significant problem.

In my 50s and had genetic sagging eye lids and turkey neck. I did this to feel better about myself. It's been 1 1/2 years since my facelift. The highlights are that the office staff did an excellent job in the preparation and post surgical care instructions. Dr. Robinson arrived an hour late for the surgery which made me nervous. The procedure left me with numbness on my left chin in front of my ear lobe which still hasn't gone away, even though the doctor said he doesn't go deep enough to effect nerves. I had a horizontal crease on my neck where the skin was attached to the muscles that has not gone away. I also have a vertical rope of skin on the left side of my neck which looks like he didn't pull enough skin tight on that side. When I asked him about it, he said he didn't see it. Finally, I am left with chronic dry eyes since my eyelid surgery which I will always have to manage according to my eye doctor. Was it worth it? Yes and no. Just didn't expect to have these lingering issues.

Based on my experience, I have to conclude that Dr. Robinson had an "off" day when he did my surgery. Nice bedside manner...a bit of an ego...but I don't know any surgeon who doesn't.
