I had cool sculpting done 3 days ago. I thought I would document and share my experience here for anyone considering this procedure. I had my lower abs and upper and lower flanks done for a total of six applicators used. I should mention that I workout 3-4 days a week and eat as healthfully as I can. I simply had areas of fat that just would not go away no matter what I did.....thanks kiddos and thanks to my mid forties! My abs were done using 2 applicators (one on each side) from the side of the belly button to right above my panty line (maybe slightly lower than this) done at separate times and done in a diamond pattern. He believes the results are much better this way than one applicator going horizontally. My flanks were divided into upper and lower treatment areas...although both areas were on my sides. Praying for no more muffin top and more of an hourglass shape. I was told to come wearing loose comfortable clothes and a sports bra since that is what you will need to wear when leaving. It started with a VERY cold gel like cloth being placed over the area. He then placed the applicator on the area which literally sucks up as much skin/fat that your body will allow up into the vacuum like device. I should mention there are 3 different size applicators (small, medium, large). Your body shape determines what size can be used. I had medium applicators used in all areas. Once the fat is sucked WAY up in the machine, they turn on the freeze function and you remain with this on for one hour. This is very, very uncomfortable (not painful though) but only for about 5 minutes or so. Since I went to a place that has 2 machines, they could dual sculpt which cut my treatment time in half (3 hrs instead of 6)!! Once the hour is up, the suction applicator gets gently pulled off. Your skin/fat looks like a large stick of butter. It is a block like shape. This is where the pain enters into the procedure. It is extremely important that the treated area gets aggressively massaged. I am not going to lie.....this hurt like hell!!!!! The area is very tender and, in my case, bruised, and the critical massage lasts around 2-3 minutes. By far, the hardest part of the whole process. Since I was having multiple areas treated, my next round began with that initial 5 minutes of extreme discomfort coupled with the throbbing pain in the already treated area. No fun at all but.....THIS SUBSIDES!! Another 5 or 6 minutes later go by and, again, I am fine. I watched a movie during my procedure and they brought in lunch for me. They really did a fabulous job making me feel as comfortable as possible. I should also mention, I was in a hospital bed in a sitting up position with numerous pillows and even a boppy to support me and the machines. I have seen other reviews/videos where they laid the patient down. In my opinion, I can't see this working as well as sitting up. Na t urally, your fat and tissues retreat inward when lying down. So sitting up enables more to get pulled into the machine which is what you want to happen.
When I was all done, they gave me warm wet towels to clean off all the goop. Not very easy to clean yourself at this point as your skin is extremely tender to the touch. I'm not sure how some people are able to go about their day after this procedure cause I was incredibly sore and swollen. I will post another post describing my first couple of days. Sorry for the length and if you are still reading this....I am happy to answer any questions I can. Good luck!!
