Read the reviews on BBL and discussed with a friend who reported fat/volume loss but decided it was an incidental thing and tried it myself. I hurt 4-5/10. Took about 45 minutes. Had the procedure done at a plastic surgery office and for 2 weeks following the treatment had horrible acne and then 2 weeks later (after the inflammation went down) started noticing the deflated look of my skin and it seemed my skin just was thinner and unable to hold onto any hydration/moisturizer. I actually mentioned the concern of fat/volume loss to the laser esthetician and the reviews on Realself right before the treatment. She said she had never heard anything of the concerns, but also knew nothing of Realself (shrug). Anyway, my skin is moderately brighter (benefit x 2) but the volume loss counteracts those benefits and I think I could have had alternative treatments without the significant volume loss so I would not have had the procedure knowing what I know now. Just my 2 cent's worth.

I feel the same. When I first have my BL treatment I was happy! It did diminish some age spots and moderately brightened my skin. That said, about a month later I started noticing more fine lines and a saggy appearance, especially in the cheeks and lower face. I already have some volume loss due to the fact that I am 50 years old, but the added "wrinkliness" to my lower face made me look even older! I had originally planned on doing a second, follow up procedure, but decided against it.

I have instead followed up with a number of microneedling + PRP treatments and finally see my skin looking like it did before the BBL treatment. I am just grateful that I decided not to go ahead with a second BBL treatment.
