I had my consult with Dr. Guarino on March 10, 2016. I didn't have too many questions because I researched everything and even followed his actual patients on this site.
I swear that's the only time I've stalked!
He was honest and really nice. His staff was also pretty great!
I do have significant scarring from surgeries when I was younger, which run under my rib. He did seem to be a bit hesitant about that and said that my results won't be perfect, but he can get rid of the hanging skin and repair my muscles. He was worried about the circulation in that area.
I am not about to go parading around in a bikini anyway! I just want to be able to be pooch-Free and be able to wear a dress here and there and not have to worry about looking pregnant.
I must add that the real reason I went for the consult was because I am starting to get rashes under the skin folds. Nasty!
I am not one who ever considered actually getting cosmetic surgery, but I'm sick of hiding my belly and not swimming with the kids, etc.
During my consult, we took pics, discussed health concerns, measured me for a compression garment, went over what to expect, etc.
I then scheduled my surgery.
I went for my preop blood work today. I was given the pee cup and the special cleanser for before surgery.

He's great! I'm so glad I was able to see how his previous patients felt about him. Not a darn thing bad posted anywhere. That helped me choose him as a doctor. Good luck with your surgery!

UPDATED FROM Mom of big babies

Two weeks until my surgery...

I received a call from Dr Guarino's office today. My blood test came back. I have to take iron supplements, eat more dark greens and take B-Complex vitamins. I ran right out and grabbed them.
I have two weeks left. I want to make sure my house is in tip-top shape. I also realized that I have so much to do outside, also. I'll be recovering when I'd usually be getting the garden planted and pool ready. That's all going to be put on hold this year.
It hasn't fully hit me yet. I'm more worried about how I'm going to hide the fact that I had surgery (from certain nosy neighbors) than I am off the actual surgery.

Tell the neighbours that you had to have a hernia operation, and that should cover you. Mind you, it's none of their business what you do. All the best.

Thanks. I can honestly say that because the doctor DID find a hernia... Haha.

When do you go in? Good luck I'm sure I'll get a great result. Dr. G does amazing work.

Haha. I go in this Thursday! The 28th. It's somewhat hitting me now. I'm worried about what it'll look like because he can't do lipo by my ribs because of the scar I have, but at least my pooch will be a part of history..haha. No more cleaning under the skin folds or rashes, either. Not fun!

I'm starting to get rashes in my rolls too. It's so frustrating. October can't come soon enough for me. Good luck on Thursday. Hope you heal fast. I'm sure you can't wait to see the results. I read a lot of posts and everyone says the waiting during the last week is emotional. Hopefully it goes by fast.

Thank you! I have four kids keeping my mind off of it. I'm more worried about recovery and baseball games with my son.. Uh-oh. I'll make sure I keep updating.
I can't wait to see my results either. Haha. Two weeks! So much to do!
