Had saline implants over muscle placed in 2009. I've had extreme fatigue ever since. Back pain, left under arm pain, and left breast in constant pain. I can't tolerate any touching. Sometimes clothing feels like razor blades on my nipples!! They are so heavy I have to wear a bra 24/7. It's hard to be active without having to wear several sports bras. I feel like they make me look much heavier. I'm 5'5" 120 lbs. Scheduled for explant April 2nd under local anesthesia. Can't wait!

The local approach for saline above muscle was not that bad -- only took 1/2 valium for nervousness and the numbing shots did not hurt much at all. Hopefully, you have a kind and compassionate doctor who will take time easing them out of you. The upper inside of the breast "pole" area is not numb, so you will feel some pain as it is pulling away from the scar tissue holding it in place. That is perhaps the worst of it overall, so expect it and you will be able to handle it. Tell the doctor to stop and give it a break if you get too uncomfortable during that portion of the removal. Here is the biggest bonus: Prior to the removal, you will immediately feel relief when they are drained -- amazing relief! You will know right at that moment that getting them out is the best thing you could do for yourself. My back pain was gone right away, and many others report quite resolve to symptoms of various types. You will be fine! Stay on here with the rest of us so you never feel alone! Prayers to you -- and hugs!

sorry -- "quick" resolve -- and yes, I too had extreme fatigue prior, and that has improved already also -- 5 days post-op!

Thank you!! I have not been prescribed any medication at all. I'm nervous about that. I'm afraid I will feel panicky beforehand. I'm also worried about my left breast because it has always been so painful. I'm afraid it is stuck to me in there and wont come out! How are you doing so far?

I am okay -- still tender at the incision site -- the itchiness of the healing process is annoying. I only took Tylenol twice the day after, nothing since. I expect you will be given valium to take the edge off your nervousness, and you can take a whole one -- I chose only half. Other women have been given a sleepy-type pill in addition to the valium. Discuss your level of anxiety and concern with the doctor or nurse so you know what they will do to help you. I took the valium once I arrived, about 1/2 hr. prior to the surgery.

Oh wow, they look so big on you with your itty bitty waist. No wonder you are experiencing all this pain & problems! Do you know what size cc's they are? I also get that razor blade feel in my nipples too, and sometimes even my breast. I will be so happy to hopefully have that feeling gone! Have you gone for your pre-op yet? Usually prescriptions for the meds are given during that appointment. I got a Valium and a sleeping pill for my local (coming up in one week & a day). Best wishes to you!

I was quite surprised to see how if they actually looked in the photo. Made me even more sure of my decision! I had to go look for my Mentor card. They are 375cc filled to 420cc! I went to my consultation and set my surgery for April 2 that day. They said I could even drive myself to and from. Not a word about Valium or prescriptions. I don't like to take any medications, but I'm thinking I may need something. I'm very squeamish about breast pain! I may have to call to find out about that. One week for you? That's great! Let me know how it goes! I'm so thankful for this site. It has really made me very sure of my decision.

You're going to feel such a relief for sure, in many ways, once they are gone. I have moderate anxiety so I opted for the meds to help calm me. Given that they've told you you can drive, you're probably not getting any then. If you feel you may need something, I'd definitely give a call & see if you can get it. Usually no driving allowed if you are taking the meds. I have my own story on here, and will be updating along the way. I guess it's officially the one week countdown cause hopefully by this time next week I'll be in bed for my exciting explanting Monday morning! :)

Thank you! Hope you continue to heal nicely! I'm going to call to ask whether or not they will give Valium or not.
