2 weeks and counting! After years of wanting BA, it's finally going to happen on 5/16. Any tips on what to get to prepare for recover?
Currently a 36 maybe A. Hoping for a full C small D with much more symmetry than I have now. Hoping different size implants will help accomplish this goal. Nervous but more excited!

Pain is about what I anticipated. Riding very high. Dr said they will take about 3 month to drop as I have a very small crease. It's gonna be a long 3 months. Very high and better tight.

Congratulations! I can't wait to get mine done! I go in Monday 5/22 for a lift and augmentation.

Thanks and good luck to you. I can't wait to get past these painful days and begin enjoying my new body!

Welcome to the other side! Remember it gets better EVERY day!!! Both in appearance and how you feel.
So, what size did you end up with? Silicone or saline? Unders or overs? You'll be super happy after a few days pass and then a week or two. Those first few days are the worst. But you did it! You'll love your new boobs. Best decision I ever made for myself, physically. Most of us feel that way.
So, keep your head up. You're over the worst of it already, surgery is over!
Happy healing!!

Oh girl, how right our are. These first 2 days have been bad. I went w 450/485 silicone. They are soooo high and painful. My chest is so tight. Under the muscle I think that why. I feel like everyone is looking at my high square boobs lol. Any tips on relief? All h prescribed was pain killers and antibiotics. I wish for muscle relaxers and steroids or swelling lol.

I would ask about the muscle relaxers!!! I used those for like 5 or 6 or so days, where pain meds I got off around 2 or 3 days, for tylenol. Call them!
Just keep yourself properly propped up when sitting or laying down (pillow piles!) and it'll ease the pressure and backaches.
You could try ice packs or frozen peas if you don't have any ice packs. Lots of ladies do that for the chest muscles. In intervals.
You could also get a long sock and fill it with rice (half full makes it more flexible and less heavy) and freeze it (or heat it in microwave)...it acts as a ice or hot pack. I have one we use a lot for headaches or neckaches or my kid just loves it at bedtime.
Just don't overdo how long you use it at a time. Not sure how long is recommended because I didn't do this. Google will know. Or call the nurse and ask her.
Another thing is simple shoulder shrugs and rolls. SLOWLY and carefully!!!!! This helps ease the tension in the shoulders, upper back, and can help open up chest muscles too. Just be VERY cautious.
I think I started doing it around day 2 or 3, after my 1st follow up appt my doc suggested the shrugs. I googled the shoulder rolls. They go together easily.
Just use extreme caution and listen to your body. But they actually really helped me.
Most of my pain after a couple/few days was in my upper back and muscles. So the stretching helps them.
You may wanna ask your doc first. But shrugs are such a simple move that they really can't hurt you. Anything much more than what I've suggested, I'd ask the doc.
But have you had your follow up yet? If not, call them and ask what they recommend. Or just try the ice and shrugs/rolls. I think it helps. But definitely ask about the script for relaxers!!! I can't believe you don't have one!!! That was the most helpful thing for me!
I can't relate to everyone staring. I don't think I left home for like a week. Maybe 5 days or so. Except straight to my doc's office the one time. And I covered myself in concealing tops. So that the shape couldn't be obviously seen. It made me feel better about going out of the house. Your probably just hyper sensitive to it and think people are noticing when really they don't! WE become hyper aware of our boobs after surgery, for a while...and it makes it easy to assume EVERYone else is hyper aware too. Most people never notice!
It'll get better I promise!!! Don't forget to get some early pics for yourself!!! You'll wish you did if you don't! And call your doc! Find out about that script and when your first follow up will be! Most girls have one within a week or so.
Keep your head up. Another day or two and the worst will be behind you!

Have someone who can help you for the first few days. This is important. Very.
Get your meds filled beforehand. Including Tylenol for after the scripts, and a constipation med usually is helpful too.
Have easy foods around. You may not feel like eating for a day or two. I liked crackers and ginger ale.
Have pillows to prop yourself up for a few weeks til the back pressure feels better. For sleeping. It'll help relieve the morning boob and backaches.
Have post-op bras and shirts beforehand. If you're gonna wear t-shirts, keep them loose because it'll be a few days to a few weeks to have full arm motion functions again. So easy is good. Especially that first week.
Keep your meds on schedule for the first couple/few days, til you feel less pain. Then you can back down to Tylenol.
Listen to your body. It's easy to get worn out fast after surgery, for the first week or two.
You may want to ask your PS about the boobie strap now so you will know if they provide it or you buy your own. Also your post-op recovery bra, if they send you home in one or you buy one. If you buy your own, get your PS to advise you which one they recommend. If they DO have you use the boobie strap, wear something under it, or it can cut into your skin. I have scars from mine...and I only wore it bare skinned for a couple days!!
Always follow your PS instructions carefully and keep in touch with them about all questions and concerns post-op.
Remember to take pre-op and post-op pics for your own timeline and comparison later. You'll regret it of you don't.
Some ladies like ice packs fir their swelling boobs or heat for their backs. Ask your PS what they recommend about these.
This is very important...
Every person heals differently. Some bounce back really fast. Some take a bit longer. Be patient and follow instructions. If you do these things it will help make recovery much smoother. If I think if more I'll let you know.
As far as size, don't focus on a cup size so much. The PS CAN'T guarantee a cup size. But generally it is 150-200cc to go up one cup size. Each body wears/eats the CCs differently. Larger framed or heavier women tend to need a bit more CCs for the same kind of "look" as a smaller woman. For example, proportionally, I had to get XL implants to get large looking boobs. Smaller women who weigh less and have less broad shoulders and bodies, need much smaller CCs than I got, to end up with a similar looking proportional result. I hope that makes sense.
Just be clear with your PS about the LOOK you want and make sure they understand, and can actually deliver your desired results. The BEST way to make sure you're on the same page is to take him wish pics. And this should include pics of women with similar body stats to you, who have implants that you like their results. You should show those to your doctor. That will be the best way to get your goals and expectations met.
Also, we ALL get what's referred to as frankenboob. That's the strange shape our muscles make for the first few weeks to a couple months post-op. The only ladies I've ever seen that don't get this (some of us get it severely, others it's much less noticeable), is ladies who go for over the muscle. Unders go through this phase. Mine took roughly 6 weeks to go away. Again, this may be something you should ask your fix about...but all of us get it, and it's very upsetting to ladies who weren't aware if it beforehand. If they get it and didn't know it was coming, they get a shock and it causes frustration. So, just beware this will most likely happen to you for a while too.
Don't be afraid to ask your doc and nurses lots of questions. It's better to be informed and prepared, than to find everything out the hard way, afterward.
This is a great place/site to get some of that info.
Find some ladies who's results you like and read their journeys. It'll help you be prepared a bit more. Plus, it'll maybe help you connect with people who can help support you through this and after.
Ok, I think that's most if it. You'll love it. I swear it's the best decision I've made for myself physically, other than losing weight. It skyrocketed my self confidence. So, I'm sure it'll be great for you too!
Have a great day!
Ask your PS lots of these kinds if questions because they know your personal situation best. But generally, a week to two is what most of us tend to need to feel mostly normal again. Hope that helps! And you're very welcome! I'm here to help!!!
