I was treated by Mr Ross at The Alex in Cheadle,...
I was treated by Mr Ross at The Alex in Cheadle, Stockport. I had a lot of work on my nose; large bump removed, large mole that needed four stitches and as my nose wasn't straight it was broken and straightened including ensuring the end/tip is now in the middle - all through a closed operating procedure which is very clever. The cartilage in the tip was also trimmed from the inside to shrink it a bit. Mr Ross operated with an ENT colleague, Mr Camilleri, and I saw both of them to discuss the procedure. There was never any pressure and both of them took time to discuss options and outcomes so I knew what to expect. Mr Ross came to get me himself before the operation and walked down with me to theatre which was a lovely touch and both surgeons came to see me before the operation anyway as well as after. Having never had any kind of surgery before I thought I would be terrified but I really wasn't (low blood pressure reading being proof). I think that was because I just knew I was in such good hands and they would look after me. The nursing team and Vicky the practice manager are all lovely too. Despite the cautions I haven't taken a painkiller since theatre - there has been no pain - a bit of throbbing occasionally and if you wear glasses that can bring it on a bit inevitably but it passes. You can also expect a bit of oozing/bleeding but I don't remember any once I had left the recovery room. There were a lot of scabs up my nose which mostly came down on Day 5 and I was breathing through my nose again by day 6. I go running sometimes and my times have improved which might be coincidence but is a good sign nevertheless. It's now week 8 and the area where most of the work was done is settling down really well and the scar (where the mole was) was virtually invisible from week 2 so I am delighted about that. I know I wasn't very clear with them to start with about what I wanted. I hated my nose and just wanted a smaller one with no bump - I didn't really have any concept of what it would look like. Mr Ross and Mr Camilleri helped me through that and I now have a lovely straight nose and a better outcome than I dared hope. And I know if I have any issues in the future they would be there for me. I went to a school reunion in week 4 - I got a lot of compliments about how great I looked and some of that was a bit more confidence. All this from a woman who had to sit in the toilets with her head between her knees on a first aid course once. I feel very lucky to have found them.

I think I've said it all in the review above. Can just add that when I did have a question on day 9 about wearing glasses I got a call from a nurse within minutes and an email from Mr Ross within about 15 minutes.
