Hi ladies! I've been reading this website...

Hi ladies! I've been reading this website obsessively since I decided to finally get a breast augmentation, so since I'm about to take the plunge, I thought I would write about my experience in the hopes that someone will find it useful. I'm quite flat chested, and always have been. I've been self-conscious about my small chest pretty much since I was a teenager. I've got an athletic build, with broad shoulders, and the only thing that saves me from looking like a 14 year old boy is my big butt :) Anyway, after breastfeeding 2 kids for 15 months each, they've gone from small and pert to just small... I'm done having kids, and I can afford it now, so I'm going for it!

I'm now 2 days away from my surgery day with Dr. Mayberry here in Albuquerque. I chose him because I really liked the natural look of his other patients. I am hoping to have very natural looking boobs when this is over, basically I want bigger versions of my breasts, as I like pretty much everything about them but their size. I also want boobs that look like they belong to me (aka slightly droopy), without a ton of projection or cleavage. So... I'm going with 330cc moderate profile. I actually surprised myself (and my husband) by choosing something that big! I went to the sizing session convinced that I wasn't going more than 250cc. I'm hoping to end up a big B, maybe small C. I run and do a lot of yoga, so I don't want to have to worry about too much bouncing or discomfort. I'm not used to thinking about those things at all! Anyway, when I was there, I tried on 250, 300 and 350 sizers, and it was a little hard to tell in looser clothes which was which. The 300cc had more projection, and looked bigger (to me) than the 350 with less projection. The projection was too much for my taste... so Dr. Mayberry recommended moderate profile, which came in 330cc and 365cc, not the 350 I tried on. Since I am afraid of going too big, I opted for the 330s. I still get nervous that I'm going to end up too big, but I don't think that will be the case. I've been wearing some very padded bras leading up to this, hoping to create the illusion that I've had boobs the whole time. I'm mostly afraid that I'll get bored with the downtime, and that I'll forget and pick up my toddler or something. Anyway, I will take photos and update as I can. Wish me luck!

Congrats on deciding to have a BA! What advice have you found to be the most helpful in preparing for your surgery?

I found the information on recovery time and progression to be very helpful. Looking at results from other women of my stature was also great - gave me more confidence in the size I chose.

Boobs have arrived!

I had the surgery done this afternoon, resting at home and feeling better than expected. Definitely tired and sore, but a dull ache. I'm very happy with the size, too! Not too big at all, but still a sizable difference!

Day 2

Feeling pretty good! The only thing really bothering me are when the bra rubs on the incisions. The surgical bra that they gave me after the procedure was very tight, went back to Dr. Mayberry today for a larger size. Much better! I'm also very happy with the size so far, exactly what I was hoping for.
