3 weeks post op

Yesterday was exactly 3 weeks post op for me. I feel fabulous! The incisions have healed, there is no more soreness. I have almost no little twitches of healing anymore, either. The incision scars are beginning to look very good in spite of my interference.
I had a large streak of very irritated skin under my left breast from the surgical tape holding the outer bandages in place. After Dr. Chen removed those at my 1 week post op checkup, I thought it would go away. It did not and my skin under the butterfly tape holding the outer layer of incision together was also irritated, itching and burning. So, instead of waiting for the tape to slowly come off by itself, I removed it a few days later. Fortunately, the incisions were healed enough at that time that I did not cause any serious problems for myself. That was a stupid, bad move on my part.
But, all's well that ends well. Everything looks great. I found by an internet search that applying a thin layer of over the counter cortizone cream helped the irritated skin to heal quickly. I did NOT apply it on the incision area or anywhere close to it. Only on the one patch that had the outer bandage tape on it.
I'm not posting any pictures this time, because I pretty much look the same as I did earlier. I am loving my new old self and am 100% happy that I had the implants removed and not replaced.

Thanks for posting your story. It sounds like you are having a great recovery! I had trouble with CC too so I finally had mine out after many years. It looks like you are recovering nicely!
Thanks. Did you have yours out recently? How are you doing on this side of things?
I had mine out three months ago. My results are not so great, flat wide pancakes, but I had very little breast tissue to start with so I can't expect miracles at my age (57) :)
I had mine in for 8 years, and only really enjoyed them for about 6 months. They were larger than I wanted, and I felt more self-conscious WITH them than before I got them. I wish I had never made that choice. I'm much happier with them out, but sad about the price my body had to pay for my moments of foolishness.
I have only just reached the level of inner healing where I can really stretch my arms up high above my head without feeling the twinges of pain. So, please be very careful with yourself. Go at it slowly or you'll be taking 1 step forward and 2 steps back.

Before and after pictures
I have added some pictures that I thought might be helpful. In order: Original me, then the capsular contraction, the after picture of the removal and repositioning of the implants, and lastly the "new old me". These are the 2 pictures I took yesterday of my 1 week post-op, implant removal with no lift.
I hope this helps.

You know what I want to say is no matter who you are or how you look we are all beautiful women. I think you look great!!!
We're your implants under the muscle
Did Dr. Chen remove all of the capsule and scarring and did he use drains?

Typo correction!
Dr. Chen is in Albuquerque, New Mexico - not MN. Sorry, I had a typo!

I had general anesthesia, and the last thing I remembered was being wheeled to the operating room. Then I was waking up and thinking I was still waiting for the surgery, but it was already over!
If you are having general anesthesia, you might want to ask for anti-nausea medication in your I.V. and maybe a patch to put behind your ear the night before also. I have had other surgeries in the past without that help, and the first thing I did upon waking up, was vomit. Not a fun thing to do, especially after an abdominal surgery - in my case, a hysterectomy. Ugh...
