Can't Wait to Be Small Again After 14 Years! - Albany, NY

Taken the day of my surgery...

Lots of people have asked what I looked like immediately after surgery. Here it is. Pretty scary, huh? Two years later, you see how wonderfully everything turned out without additional surgery of any kind. It was and is still very surprising to me that I could have something inside me for 14 years and still have my skin come back like this. You just never know. Before you have additional procedures, I'd recommend you give your body at least a year. Sound like a long time, but you may be very happily surprised.

I totally agree. I'm 19 months since explant and still improving each week. I would almost say to wait two years because they reckon skin can take that long to contract. Congrats on looking fab. Xx

Thanks for sharing your story. I have also decided not to have a lift done right away, but to wait and see how I heal first. I was thinking wait 6 months -- good to know that it should probably be a year.

Thank you for sharing this, I have only found your review and it's very helpful, a timely message to be patient and wait. I will explant next week. Your result is beautiful, congratulations.

2 yrs later... no lift... no scars!

Here I am... I avoided the docs who told me I should have a lift along with the explant. Went with an amazing and caring doc who removed the implants from the original scar in my armpit, and supported my decision to take a wait and see approach. So happy! Very fortunate to have no sag, no scars, can't even tell I had implants for 14 years. If I had it to do over? No implants. I love my small size now... and if you do have implants... take them out and give your body a chance to heal.

I agree with you! I just had my 18 year old implants out 3 days ago and I am SO happy! I had a quick peak before putting back on my tight compression bandage and I am very happy with the results. I could not be happier with the new, real me. It's such a relief to have come to this clarity. I truly believe by having them removed is the strong step towards self-love. :)

How are you recovering? I'm thinking of having 16 year old implants removed and I'm just curious how everyone is feeling? Are you experiencing fluffing

Hi nabors0810,
I am recovering very well! SO happy I got those horrible things out! I experienced immediate relief from health problems; neck, back, chest, joint, body pain GONE! Chronic fatigue GONE!! Anxiety GONE! And I can breath deeply again! Just to name a few. Everyday I feel better and better as far as the surgery goes. I had the capsules out so my muscles took a beating. They have been very sore but as I said getting better daily. No serious pain though. As far as fluffing on the upper 'pole' no, but the breasts themselves look great according to me! They are full, no stretch marks or skin, dents, nothing. Just that 'pole' thing but I don't care at all. It will fill out in years time if not I am also ok with that. It just feels good to get those horrible, hard, plastic cantaloupes out of my body! LOL! If you decide you won't regret. I only regret not doing it sooner! How wasted so much of my life.
All the best in your decision!

I think it's important for people to have faith in their bodies... My doctor was the only one who didn't try to convince me to get a surgical lift immediately. Love that woman...

You look PERFECT!!
Thanks for updating this site and us, the "sisterhood" here -- even 2 years later!
I'm 48 and I too, had my 13 yr old saline implants removed almost 4 months ago. BEST DECISION EVER
I love the "new/old me"...every single day.
You're basically one of the first "originals" I saw when I first joined this site in 11/2014 -- looking into implant removal.
Now here we are...
on the other side, implant free and happy "O.G's" lol :D
Again, thanks for the update.. you look awesome ♡ XOXO

Thank you so much... it is nice to know we are not alone... even though in our daily life it is often a private decision and one where lots of people say 'but why?'. Even if they didn't turn out awesome, I'd still be happy to be free of them. Free to say truthfully... no plastic here...

It is scary at first... I had some swelling and needed a drain for one side. It IS a relief... yes, self-love... to feel that healthy, natural breast tissue after all these years. Such a blessing.

Day of treatment

.....oh, and my mom is here taking care of me!

My mom is so great. She was diagnosed with breast cancer years ago (just a few months after my BA). She's cancer free now, but she knows what it is like to have a bit of a shock about one's breasts. Seeing her so happy and healthy now reminds me why I wanted these removed in the first place... and why it is so important to remove them now as to not interfere with future mammograms.

I hope you're recovering well! So nice that your mom is able to be with you.:-)

Thanks for the well wishes. I'm doing great. The pain meds they gave me are much better than ones I've had before. I'm tired and woozy, but not nauseous at all. There is minimal swelling (knock on wood). My mom is making it possible for me to just do absolutely nothing... which is what the Dr. recommended :)

That's great! Happy healing!:-)
