Patience is Key!

WORTH IT$9,500
After having my stitches removed 2 weeks post op, I had to wait another week for the strips to fall off. It was hard to see my scars at first because they are so dark and rough to the touch. I knew from the beginning that my scar healing process wouldn't be ideal, especially because I have never healed well from other scars. I am using the biotin oil which I really like along with the scar sheets. With that being said I am still extremely happy with my results and am feeling more and more confident everyday :)

My surgery with Dr. Deluca was May 9 and my scars have really faded dramatically. I use Biocorneum, along with the Mepitac silicon scar tape. One thing you should probably expect, as it happened to me (and Dr. D didn't warn me) is that the "purse string" stitch that is doing most of the hard work behind the scenes will release at some point and your nipples will become much flatter and appear larger. My nipples did this about 3 weeks apart around 2.5 months after surgery and it was kind of alarming. Apparently, this purse string stitch is needed to hold most of the tension, as the little dissolving ones around the outside can't handle it on their own. While my nipples look bigger now, I put concealer on the red parts around the circumference of the nipple the other night and realized that once my scars aren't red anymore and have lightened significantly, my nipples will go back to seeming smaller again. Just another thing to consider on this weird journey that we're on!!
Thank you so much! That is extremely helpful to know. I will definitely look into buying the Biocorneum and Mepitac silicon scar tape.
hi jendale. thanks for sharing. mine look very similar to yours. have you shared anything after the year? I have a consultation with him at the end of the week.
I'm also crazy jealous of your cleavage!! I never got that! I still have a good half inch flat gap, which is obviously better than before, but I wished it was closer like you have.
You look great!
For me, the scarring was the most surprising and frustrating part of this whole process. It's so hard to be patient. I don't scar well either so I understand your feelings!!
Your looking great so far and your cleavage is so nice! How is the healing going since?

Two weeks post op

I had my stitches removed today! I am very happy, Dr. DeLuca said I am healing well and he is happy with the symmetry of my breast. I basically feel back to normal as far as doing simple things in my everyday life, such as driving, cooking, cleaning and so on.
My skin tone on my breast is not very even, but I am hoping the biotin oil will begin to help give me a more even look and help reduce the look of redness on the inside of my breast. Dr. DeLuca also explained to me that once these strips fall off in a week or so I can begin using the scar sheets, which I am looking forward to.

Almost at 2 weeks post op!

This coming Thursday I will be returning to Albany to have my stitches removed. I am happy with my progress so far. I have been out of the house much more and feel back to normal while walking. I tried a bathing suit on a few days ago that I was never really comfortable in because it never really stayed up on top, and I was extremely pleased when I tried it on.
I am looking forward to learning how to massage my breast after the stitches are removed.
