My Stubborn Areas Are Finally Gone!

No matter how hard I worked out, the love handles and outer thighs were not changing so I decided to do something about it.
I did my consult and booking over WebEx due to COVID. This was a little strange but went as smoothly as can be expected.
When I got to the office on the day of the procedure, I got to meet my doctor who I had selected out of the doctors in the practice based on the internet reviews available. Each of the Drs in the DC office also has a non-AirSculpt private practice so it was easy to get lots of broad perspective on their work and manner.
Dr. Bhatt was really wonderful taking time to explain everything while marking me up.
Surgery Step 1 - Injection of the tumescent fluid which numbs the area, marinates the fat for extraction and seals blood vessels to control bleeding - this felt strange but mostly did not hurt some areas had scar tissue or tight stubborn fat to get though but it felt like a stretch as the cannula went though those areas, not pain per se. They use some kind of thing called a ‘wheel’ to do the hole punch and that did not hurt at all either. He numbed all areas to be treated before extracting fat from any of them.
Surgery Step 2 - Fat extraction though the cannula. I did not feel much of anything and by this point, everything was a bit of a blur.
Recovery Day Of - This was gross but I slept through most of it. I got home from the procedure at 6 PM. We stopped on the way to get my antibiotics and pain killers. I remember nothing. I woke up in a puddle of fluid and the pads they put in the areas that were treated were all soaked and gross and breaking down. It was gross but gross does not really bother me too much. Pain was moderate and controllable with Tylenol.
Recovery Days After though End of First Week - Majority of Fluid stopped leaking out by end of first day post procedure though the incision sites leaked moderately a bit for three to five days. Pain was pretty bad the entire time. I used Tylenol every 4 hours like clockwork for the first three days and only at night for the rest of the week thereafter. Sleeping was not pleasant. I wore a thin tank top under my compression garment as the material started to irritate my skin. Once I washed the garment (Day 4) I no longer needed the undershirt. I did find that the close contact of the garment or t. Shirt with the incision holes was preventing them from closing (a little seepage would come out, form a scab then I’d move and the cloth in contact with the scab would pop the scab off and it would leak again. . . Bandaid prevented this nicely)
Anyway, week 1 was no fun. Week 2 was inconvenient as I was just sick of the compression garment but only my outer thighs hurt when I put pressure on them.
I would absolutely do this again. I got the result I wanted.

The entry points for the cannula are the size of a pencil eraser. They are flat and still a bit pink. The two lower ones for my stomach are below the bikini line (and hidden on my existing c-section scar) there is one on top of my belly button too. I just tried to get a pic of that and it’s so minor that I can’t get it to show up in an image . . . So minor . . . So no real scaring at all.

How many inches and or pounds did you lose? Do you know a number?

2 inches off of my waist at bellybutton
2 inches off the bulge of my love handle area
2.5 inches off of hips
2 inches off of my thighs
I cannot answer on weight. I threw the scale away LONG ago (second best thing I’ve ever done. If I like the way I look, the way my clothes fit and I can keep up with my kids, run a 5K . . . I’m good) I was straining the stitching on size 4 pants before and now I’m comfortably back in size 2.

Wow. You look amazing. Were you also dieting during this recovery? Or did the procedure really tighten you up that much? How did you deal w/ the leaking going back to work? How many days did you need to recover before ‘being back in public?

Thank you for your compliment.
I have always eaten well and exercised so no additional dieting after the o procedure.
Leaking really only lasted one day. Seepage that can be absorbed by a good band aid after Day 2 so no issues going out in public.
I was out and about 2 days later. The compression garment made clothes fit a bit strangely but I had this done during COVID so we’re all quarantined wearing sweats to the grocery store anyway. With the right fitting clothes, you can be back to work and out in public by day 2.

You look great!!!! Was there any scarring and if so, where are the scars located. I was Also thinking of having airsculpting done on my stomach and waist. Are you able to upload some pics showing the scars?
