don't do it. they are liars!
DON’T DO IT!!! If there is one thing Airsculpt is very good for, it is their marketing and advertising. If you want to be told “THERE IS IMPROVEMENT” and want only “GOOD ENOUGH RESULTS,” then waste your money with AIRSCULPT!
I learned about Airsculpt through my IG feed. I had been following them for a while before deciding to make a consultation appointment. I was keen on getting a double chin and lower abdomen airsculpt. I liked the idea of Airsculpt because there is little to no downtime, and I will be awake the whole time during the procedure.
During my consultation, Dr Devol mentioned that I am an excellent candidate. I exercise regularly and have kept a healthy weight; I just wasn’t happy with some areas of my body, especially after having two kids. Dr Devol reassured me that I would end up loving my procedures and would get the full benefit of the tightening. I ended up signing up to get BBL, full abdomen, back roll, and chin with tightening on the chin and abdomen. I was quoted $31895 for all those procedures.
While waiting to be ushered into the room, I was made to sign disclaimers and warnings about the procedure. I found this practice to be off since being there what choice do I have but to sign the papers? I didn’t have time to review them and felt forced to sign them.
The nurse talked to me and gave me information about post-op. I backed out from BBL because I was told that I wouldn’t be able to sit down normally for at least 8 weeks. This was the first time I was told about BBL post-op, and I wasn’t ready for that. So I asked for a refund but was talked into procedures to substitute for the BBL. I got armpits, pubic, and lower back and was made to pay an additional $2k right there and then while I was in my lab gown.
Mind you, I have a very high pain tolerance. I wasn’t afraid at all to get the procedure. The whole time I was in surgery – I wasn’t awake. I was knocked out. They advertised that you are comfortable the whole time, you’d be listening to music or browsing on your phone, and you’d only be feeling pressure but no pain – NONE OF THAT WAS TRUE FOR ME. I remember waking up twice during the procedure and I was shouting in agony! It was the most painful thing I had to go through.
After surgery, there was no way I would be up in running after two days. Airsculpt downplays post-op! That is a fact. They do not recommend that you get a Lymphatic massage and tell you to massage yourself. One good thing I can attribute to Dr Devol is that she handed me a pamphlet separate from the official pamphlet from Airsculpt, advising me to get a lymphatic massage after 48 hours until healed. The lymphatic massage cost me $400 every week for up to 4 months. All that time, I was very uncomfortable and in constant pain. I reached out to Airsculpt and was told that healing is just different for everybody.
On my 3rd month post-op check-up, I learned that Dr Devol has left airsculpt. I instead met with Dr Carzola. I mentioned to her all the hardships I went through and continue to go through. She said that some things are just normal for certain people. Something that bothered me since faster recovery is one of the reasons why I went with Airsculpt. She showed me my before and after pictures and stressed that there are improvements. She said that it takes up to 6 months for the full result to come through. Here is the kicker: she said that I suffer from diastasis recti, so my abdomen will always have a bulge. The bulge can only be addressed by a tummy tuck. I was flabbergasted as this was not mentioned to me by Dr Devol. If anything, she said that I would have a flat tummy. Had I known this in the beginning, I would not have gone with Airsculpt. Why would I? This would mean I would get meager results for twice the price I would have paid for a mommy makeover from another practice.
I have been in contact with the airsculpt’s office manager, Maggie. I told her how deceptive and untruthful their practices are. I did not pay 33k for Airsculpt to get good enough results. I did not pay 33k for Airsculpt to see improvements and not actual results. Airsculpt lied to me! They expect me to accept the aftermath of the surgery I wouldn’t have gotten had they told me I had diastasis recti to begin with. Maggie has told me to wait until my 6-month post-op checkup which would be next week. She is not even a doctor, and I don’t know what kind of resolution she will offer to me when Dr. Carzola already told me that there will always be a bulge in my abdomen. I’m not even detailing the other areas that are half-done or looking old!
Had I known that I would incur additional costs and that healing would take this much toll – I would have just gone with another practice that offered a mommy makeover for half the price. There are better practices and doctors who are truthful and will set realistic expectations for you. Airsculpt will leave you without recourse because they lead you on and are very untruthful with it all. DON’T DO Airsculpt!
