II have intentionally left my doctors name off...

II have intentionally left my doctors name off this post as I am giving her the opportunity to do the right thing and admit this procedure did not improve my appearance but instead has made it much, much worse. I was so optimistic about Thermitite and wanted it to be the miraculous tightening treatment I was promised it was. It is very clear when you see my pictures what has happened to me. I am not here to taint my doctors reputation I am posting this because I hope to help someone else to NOT make the same mistake I did.

Personally I am confused about the number of "worth it" responses on this procedure. The procedure would show a temporary positive outcome if there is some fat in the neck or under the chin. In this case thermitite would act like lipo sculpting where as the fat melts the skin appears tighter temporarily. Do these "worth it's" still feel the same way after six months? I was told by my doctor (after my procedure) that results are likely to begin to fade after six months.

The other thought I had for the "worth it's" is do they work for the surgeon or are they related to the surgeon, affiliated with thermitite maybe? The rules say you must not be affiliated with the doctor in any way or paid compensation. Is anyone verifying that?

I don't know but I can swear that in my case I can't think of one good thing to say about my results. I am devastated!

See for yourself and let me know what you think. I swear these pictures are me, that they were taken on the dates posted and that they have not been retouched or anything else.

Your results are clearly not what the procedure tries to"sell" to the patient. Your doctor either didn't know what he/she was doing or way oversold the procedure. Hopefully, if you make a big enough stink, the doctor will repair the damage caused. Hang in there and go for it.

I hope you get this corrected, and soon. You deserve much better than this botched job.

I have posted before, Thermtight is not approved by the FDA for what they are selling it for. It's ONLY approved for nerve ablation above the eyebrow! That's it!! They are getting around it as a company by having the doctor "suggest" the treatment. They were just purchased for $80 million so the owners and investors have gotten their money. This is typical in the aesthetic industry. I am sorry you have to go through this.

How can we verify this? This is unbelievable that doctors are doing a procedure that has not been approved and they are telling you it is approved. I had thermi tight over three months ago. The appearance of my neck was terrible for the first two months. I was ver swollen and sore. The neck looks better now, not great but the soreness and discomfort continue. Friends who I did not tell have not noticed anything or said anything to me. I was upset that my doctor said I could have minor swelling for a week and I am still swollen going on my third month.

This is not the only procedure that works this way. I had Venus Freeze done, and while it made my skin look better for a few months, within six months any benefit was gone, and I was left looking scrawny, and my skin was sagging much worse than before I had the procedure done. I have posted elsewhere about my results. Your results just confirm my worst suspicion: this industry is about making a lot of easy money selling promises that in many cases will never happen. Maybe if you have the right skin type, some of these procedures work better, but my experience with Venus Freeze and Fractora is they melt your face. Whatever layer of fat, no matter how thin, that keeps your skin looking healthy will be melted away and your will end up with sagging, lifeless skin. It is very sad. Readers: pay attention to these stories. They are the truth!

Thank you so much for sharing your story. Did you post pictures?

Forgot to say that I have Venus Freeze on my upper arms as well, which had a bit of wrinkling. A year later, I could no longer wear t-shirts. My upper arms looked 10 years older because the small layer of fat underneath the skin was destroyed and the skin had nowhere to go but down. I went from looking 60 to looking 70.

OH MY GOODNESS! I am so sorry this happened to you, Posh! Anyone who can NOT see the difference is literally blind! Thank you so much for posting. I got a promotion for this treatment from my PS via email and I will NOT give it a second thought! This just goes to prove...AGAIN....that anything that is going to put heat on or in your skin is NOT good. I hope your doc will do the right thing....either give you your money back or offer you some other treatment......such as surgery! My prayers and thoughts are with you! Again.....thank you for posting and helping to save others from this procedure. Best of luck!

WOW! Posh!!! My results are bad but your's are worse, how in the world is this procedure even out there doing this amount of damage to patients???? How did it ever get past FDA for skin tightening??? My neck was cooked from the inside out, like I had stuck my head in a microwave way too long, totally dehydrated, shriveled, crepey, sagging, SCARRING, unbelievable amount of aging in the last 16 months, and a full neck lift the only option to try and fix the mess. What the hell??? I really hope your doctor does the right thing by you, it is very obvious the damage that has been done.

I got her on the phone today. She said I needed to give it 2 more months and then we can talk refund. i will be hiding in my house!
May 4, 2016
And my goodness, you're only a month out?? She's not returning your calls or emails?? Just wow., I don't even know what to say but how sorry I am this happened to you.

i thank you for posting this photo. i was thinking about doing either the precision TX or therma tite. i actually had a consultation for Precision tx and the same day had a laser treatment for broken capillaries on my chin. i got burned so bad, that it took 3 weeks to heal. i said to myself and the doctor he scared me off of any laser treatments because of how bad i got burned. i said it was like playing with fire with these laser treatments. you proved my theory right again. i am sorry this happened to you. But like another person stated, i will probably go for a neck lift of some kind eventually, as there is no miracle laser treatment out there yet.
May 5, 2016
So glad you didn't waste your money!
May 5, 2016
i am so glad I could help. As I said before I have no idea what's going on with the 90% "worth it" rating it's a bit confusing.

I am so sorry for you. I think a lot of us here are in the same boat. I had Viora Reaction done on my lower neck and jawline in the spring of 2014. It was touted as a skin tightening procedure and also able to reduce stomach fat so stupid me also had it done on my stomach, legs, and the crooks of my arms that were just beginning to show some loss of collagen by the elbow joint.
The first few months it was wonderful...I felt younger and fresher, but by March of the 2015 not even a year later, my face skin literally started falling off my bones. I had always had large chipmunk cheeks and while I lost weight prior to the procedures I still had them before treatment began. By 2015 my face was gaunt and my skin was totally sagging. My youngest children were actually smooshing my cheeks and facial skin around for sport and looking down at them was a horrendous thing for me to think about.
It didn't seem to effect the area on my stomach they treated nor the area above my knee to the extent that it damaged my face and arms. My arm skin got ridiculously thin and veins began protruding everywhere. My skin wrinkled and got the grape fruit look to it that I never had before. My hands even with Radiesse injections were wrinkled, crepey and veiny.
At first I thought maybe it was changing hormones, but I've been tested and retested so many times I've lost track and that's not it. I finally caved and had a lower face/neck lift at 49. I do feel much better about my face and neck now. Unfortunately, there's not much I can do to salvage my arms which I worked very hard at to sculpt with weights prior to the procedures. I'm looking into vein removal and trying to focus on weigh lifting to build up more muscle to camouflage the skin that now looks older than my 75 year old mothers.
I'm SO VERY angry that no one warned me that there could be fat loss and potential side effects from these "NON Invasive Procedures". I thought it was totally non invasive and harmless. It was my first foray into cosmetic procedures (no fillers, no botox no nothing prior to this) I completely trusted my highly accredited Ivy League trained Facial Plastic Surgeon.
I hope one day there are mass law suits against these Charlatan laser/ radio frequency/ultrasound companies and they are held accountable for the damage they have done. Had I know at all about these risks, I would have never undergone any procedure like this as I'm a total Non Risk Taker.
Sorry for the rant, it's my first...but I just am appalled at all the damage these procedures are doing aside from Ultherapy which is getting alot of negative press. I hope you are able to resolve things....stay strong and believe that there will be a remedy for you.

At first my results were great.

Oh no! I am so sorry to hear your story. Yes, we do believe in our doctors because why would they perform any procedure on us that isn't good for us? The procedure, "thermatite" actually will remove a double chin. However, anyone and everyone who receives the procedure for this purpose will end up regretting the procedure eventually (in my opinion) because as they get older they are going to find that without that little pocket of fat the skin is going to hang. Why are so many older women getting fat injected into their faces, it is because this occurs naturally with age. In my case I had no double chin so my results were immediate and as you can see from my pictures my skin hangs MUCH worse than before the procedure.

I used to read these reviews and think to myself, maybe this is an exception or maybe this person is that type of person who can't be happy no matter what. I no longer think that, and can only hope that by sharing my story I help one person save their money and grief.

Take care and best wishes to you.

Really disgusting that the PS profession as a whole can just slide out of this stuff..not return calls etc. Every bad result doctors name should be posted collectively that is what will stop them. Bad results occur from inadequately applied frequencies...lack of doctor experience and the lack of remaining collagen stores in the patient. Not all are good 'candidates' they should FIX their mistakes and be sanctioned by their profession

Everyone thinks they will be the," exception" to getting bad results after reading bad reviews an proceeding with r.f. devices, or any heating device such as ultherapy...sadly...til the join our group which seemingly is the," majority". :( all seems great, like it was a miracle til a few months down the line when aging seems to accelerate I read an have experienced myself die to Ultherapy disaster. I'm sorry all of you are in the club. Ugh.

* sorry for typos, autocorrect is not my friend. Die * should be *due.
October 5, 2016
This is certanly an improvement. Your neck had a severe laxity. Full correction=surgery
March 2, 2017
Lol....work or the company do we? You have only ever made 5 comments on RealSelf, all arguing with people that posted a negative review of Thermitight.....VERY suspicious!!!!!!!
November 6, 2016
I would ask for my money back as your result is definitely not what was promised. I would certainly post your doctor's name, it will save others from making the same mistake.
December 29, 2016
Wow. Thank you for sharing your unfortunate experience...how terrible! I was all set to schedule a ThermiTight consultation, I have since changed my mind. You should hold your doctor accountable and perhaps get a mini face/neck lift with the refund...?
December 29, 2016
Please save your money for a mini/mid facelift that is what I am doing. Look at Dr. Raymond E. Lee, (Newport Beach) he comes highly recommended and facelift's are his specialty!
December 30, 2016
Yes, I definitely agree with you on the waiting for a mini mid facelift, I've seen too many scary reviews on this procedure. My local PS, Dr Josh Olson in Gilbert, AZ is amazing and conservative. He did my recent breast lift and I couldn't be happier.
December 30, 2016
Best wishes to you
May 13, 2017
yep, that's what it did to me. it didn't tighten as promised, it made my skin too lax
