After years of hating my nose, I finally went through with rhinoplasty

I’ve always wanted to fix my nose and I guess now was just the time. I’ve been stalking real self for months and watching and videos I can find and getting myself properly terrified, like one does. I was getting my breast done at the same time and no two doctors agreed on what exactly I should do with those, so I probably spent more time discussing those rather than my nose with each doctor. But I ended up going with the doctor a friend of mine used, as her results with her breasts were great. I figured any change to my nose would be better than what I have now, so I definitely slacked I’m asking questions about how many he had preformed or asking to see before and after pictures.
It’s only the day after my surgery so I can’t really see much, but what I can see of the tip I am happy with. I had very little bruising yesterday but it’s getting darker today. Nothing as bad as I was expecting from other’s posts though. And almost no pain. That’s all focused on the breasts, but that’s another post.

Day 3 and I’m starting to swell.

The bridge of my nose is swelling more and my bruising has spread but hasn’t gotten much darker. I started taking arnica pills the week prior to surgery, so perhaps those actually helped. I tend to sleep completely flat on my back or stomach, so I borrowed a recliner from my sister because I didn’t trust myself to stay upright while sleeping otherwise. I’m feeling congested today, but still fine. Pain is minimal, mostly just discomfort from the stuffy nose and stitches.

Just got my stitches out and my cast off yesterday. The doctor yanking that thing off my face may have been the most pain I’ve experienced this whole time, which was still only around a 4, and only for a short time. I’m still adjusting to a new face, and I really love the profile, but the swelling on the bridge looks sooooo bad to me that I’m trying not to look at it much. My bruising never got terrible and now I just look like I haven’t slept in a few days rather than like I got into a fight. Trying not to make judgements until the swelling has some time to go down, but I don’t want to hide my head in a bag, so that’s good, I think?
