After years of hating my nose, I finally went through with rhinoplasty

I am liking my nose so much better now. I know they said the swelling would go down, but I’m not sure I believed it, but it’s so much better than it was in week 2. I know they say you can’t tell the final results for a year, but I figure where I’m at now is about how it’s going to stay.

Just got my stitches out and my cast off yesterday. The doctor yanking that thing off my face may have been the most pain I’ve experienced this whole time, which was still only around a 4, and only for a short time. I’m still adjusting to a new face, and I really love the profile, but the swelling on the bridge looks sooooo bad to me that I’m trying not to look at it much. My bruising never got terrible and now I just look like I haven’t slept in a few days rather than like I got into a fight. Trying not to make judgements until the swelling has some time to go down, but I don’t want to hide my head in a bag, so that’s good, I think?

Day 3 and I’m starting to swell.

The bridge of my nose is swelling more and my bruising has spread but hasn’t gotten much darker. I started taking arnica pills the week prior to surgery, so perhaps those actually helped. I tend to sleep completely flat on my back or stomach, so I borrowed a recliner from my sister because I didn’t trust myself to stay upright while sleeping otherwise. I’m feeling congested today, but still fine. Pain is minimal, mostly just discomfort from the stuffy nose and stitches.
