Today I decided to go with Dr.Umit Taskin in Turkey. I love his work and he uses open technique and stronger cartilage from the rib. Though I was convinced I wanted to go to Dr. Bora.... I choose otherwise due to personal knowledge of someone’s experience and others. I am happy to gift this to myself after my next graduation and before my 27th birthday ! Can’t wait to update everyone on everything!

What happened with Dr Bora?
Dr. UMIT is a GREAT choice. If I had the downtime to be off work he’d be the chosen PS. I think u made an excellent choice for open ethnic rhinoplasty. I know they say if there’s no actually medical issues with a person’s nose, then “closed” rhinoplasty should be done. However, I truly believe that may be the case for European and other ethnicities other than African Americans. Especially those of us with bulbous tips, and/or wide nostrils. With open rhinoplasty the PS have an opportunity to cut away some of the extra fat in the tip and also better shape the nose to where the results are more predictable. I heard this from a PS here in the US as well. The last thing you want is to spend thousands and then have to save up to spend thousands again for a revision which will more than likely be open rhino. I know I chose Dr. Bora but I think closed rhinoplasty should be reserved for only small changes or for ppl other than African American. Just my honest opinion. Antyway...once again I think u made a great choice!

The things we are doing at the closed or open aprroach are exactly the same. So the shape and size of the nose was not about whether the surgery was open or closed. The thickness of tip skin can be change by defatting procedure which can be more safely performed than the open rhinoplasty to close rhinoplasty. Because at closed rhinoplasty we can protect skin vessels more. Also with closed rhinoplasty the tip recovery is faster because edema and swelling are less than the open rhinoplasty. You may have some scars after nostril reduction, but at closed approach you dont have any chance to have bad scar on your columella. In addition, surgeries can be performed easily because the nostrils are large enough in ethnic noses. However, it is very important to have enough experience about the closed approach technique for performing this procedure.

I don't know if you've already gotten your surgery done but, please do a little more research. Taskin, has some really bad reviews on realself and I believe yt. I was also, thinking about going to him and it wasn't until I did some more digging that I changed my mind.

Having a hard time deciding !!

Today I received my quotes from two doctors. One in the US which priced me at 7k and the other of course Dr. Bora at 5k. It’s hard to decide rn because both pricing are good! But I’m also looking at the price of plane tickets, Airbnb’s if I decide to stay for 7 days which is a extra 1k on top of that so each one has its benefits and cons I guess. However with Bora my 7 nights is covered in price hotel and hospital only con is the airline ticket is pricey lol but of course you are going overseas so that’s to be expected. The pro to the US dr is that he is in Miami, plane ticket is cheap for a round trip 150 rn! However, the airnbnb prices are a bit pricey for the time I’m looking at going. Is bitter sweet honestly because both Drs are good at their crafts. The other dr name is Dr.Ghersi btw for inquiring minds. Anyway I have a month to decide then I will send deposit to whoever I feel will achieve my goal. I will keep everyone updated

I’m from the US and I chose Dr. Bora my plane ticket was under $800 but then I had to pay an extra amount when I changed the ticket so approx $1100 ugh. When I calculated hotel stay per night $55-75 for most nearby hotels, transportation from and to airport, I figure the price of the flight isn’t so bad since Dr Bora package is “almost” like an all inclusive package. You are so right! I’m loving it. The main thing is my final results. For me. THIS is what’s going to make it all be worth it. No matter who u decide it’s an investment for real. A physical life changing investment...Hecks it’s really a damn gamble! I’m feeling confident and courageous about it rt now. But trust I can relate to the indecisiveness. Wow you found one for 800 but ugh that sucks sis!! Which airport are you flying into??? And I think I'm going to go ahead and put the deposit down for Bora as soon as they let me. Since the hotel is covered in my quote I guess it's okay.... is your included too? And you're right the main concern and goal is the way the nose comes out which is def scary because we want to make sure we choose the right person to do it and thank you sis! Yes. $752 round trip with Delta Airline and KLM airline as the lead operator...INITIALLY until I made changes. Istanbul, Turkey airport. Same 19hr flight with a layover in Amsterdam only 1 stop.

I’m nervous a little bit. Praying for a blessed recovery and claiming fantastic results for the both of us. Hecks for all of us whose taking this journey. I’m having so much done it’s crazy lol but I’m gonna be a positive trooper about it. I’m laughing so hard rt now because absolutely nothing is guaranteed. I haven’t told anyone. I’m just going to handle my business first. Don’t want all the mixture of options rt now. Thank You as well!

Too excited my decision is final and I’m secure mentally

I just want to be honest but this whole year I have dedicated my life to nursing school. I was separated from friends and family, had no life and was away from the city I knew so I felt isolated in a sense. I am almost finished with school... I have one more month to go and I want to gift myself with this surgery. I am happy with my body and looks but this rhinoplasty would just be everything to me and I would feel complete! And like how I should look and how I feel I look. I did a face morph/swap to see what I would look like with my desired nose and the result is realistic . How ever I would like the middle portion of the nose to be a little thinner just like my muse. I’m starting to become obsessed with it which is confirmation to do it and plan accordingly
